Pearce is a terrible match up for Treacy.

I feel like 25 touches a game from Reid would be a Good ThingReid best on playing pure mid?
Hook that shit into my veins please
He'd be averaging 5 goals and 20 score involvementsI feel like 25 touches a game from Reid would be a Good Thing
That’s a really comprehensive report, Ricci. You have addressed much of the pertinent on-field intrigue regarding Freo in 26. Thanks very much for the effort.Quite hard to report to be honest. Was a solid full intraclub match with hardly many stand outs. Players did what they had to do.
Wish the club would’ve released names and numbers as it was quite difficult to tell the difference between some players- same haircut, same builds etc.
Young, Reid and Johnson got well beaten early v Brayshaw NOD Sharp Erasmus.
Whites kicked the first 5 goals. Purples played catch up after that.
Dudley bobbed up for two goals and didn’t touch the ball again afterwards- I’m sure he did, but he was definitely quiet. He’s not a lock based off that performance. Needs to be more involved in the chain.
Murray was busy and got involved in scoring chains. Be interesting to see where he stacks up in the 22.
Scerii deserves a spot. He should push for a 22 inclusion if he can get his hands on it more and be damaging. Can see him playing for Peel and pushing for a spot if Dudley and Murray don’t perform.
McVee is a welcome elite addition. He changes the dynamic of the team. Him and Clark will want the ball and move quickly.
Wagner is such a confident, consistent AFL player. Moves and makes great decisions inside. Him and Switkowski were really missed in the finals.
Treacy wasn’t really good. He looked pissed off at the end of the game. Very hard on himself.
Amiss was busy with 3 goals. He’s leading and wants more on the wing. Watch him turn and go to burn his opponent this season. Less scrap and more run.
Voss kicked 2 goals and nothing else. Tackled Murphy bloody hard and thought was way too much for an intraclub.
Mason Cox is a stand out however doesn’t mark frequently and not really getting much of the ball.
Draper will be unfair to not get selected in the 22. He didn’t put a foot wrong on Treacy. He looks beefier and mature.
The wing spot is a concern.
Sharp really REALLY does not like his left foot. He will go onto to his left side on the wing, then turns INSIDE and looks for a cheap right foot or right handball out. Inexcusable IMO. In the same vein, Erasmus is confident to put lace out kicks on his left 3 times in 10 minutes doing down the left wing. That sort of skill gets players into the 22 IMO.
NOD isn’t a wing and played predominantly inside.
Whan was serviceable on the wing, didn’t do a whole lot but he can only build his tank.
Carr was quiet. Feel like he can be a unicorn for his height but doesn’t stand out.
Simpson, Banfield, Nicholls, Sturt were in the stands.
Lastly, Reid is just a natural footballer. Finds space, time and is 2 steps ahead of everyone else. He ll play high half forward coming inside with Bolton I’d imagine. Adds such a unpredictability.
Chapman, Ryan, Cox, Worner all solid without really doing anything more than 2nd gear.
Was a beautiful day for it. Great turn out and players very vocal and pushing each other. Sense something with this group. Just quietly hoping.

None.Any casulties today guys?
Who the hell were some of the numbers today.Game over - whites win by 6.
Player questions? Fire away!
I reckon we'll just jam our best back up mids into the wing spots, so we'll see Wagner, Erasmus, Johnson, JOM doing most of the wing roles. Would be great to see Whan really make that his position.
Wonder if Simpson could be a wild card for that role.

Just want to match the usual pre season reporters’ incredible efforts.
Hope JL is ready to push this list forward. So many options and match ups to choose from.
It's going to be a tough call because the midfield needs that support guy to round out the group but Reid sounds like he's making a spot his own so you have all of Jackson, Brayshaw, Serong, Young, Reid and Bolton going through there. Is there room for Ras to have a pure onball role with all of those names going through there?I think Ras is locking in the pure inside role we were hoping Fyfe would play last year. Would be disappointed if he ends up on a wing.

Any thoughts on the fact we still seem to be adopting a risk-free conservative approach to bringing the ball out of our back half?
I don't want to make too much of it but I'll be hoping to see a bit more pace on the ball when transitioning forward.

Yeah righto gym bro ……Every time I see that McVee picture I'm bemused how someone could have done multiple AFL preseasons and still have arm that look like that.
They could have at least got him in the gym beforehand to try get some kind of pump going.
