This is actually an improvement because last year we made Kade Chandler look like GAJ.

Not a great deal mate.

Ball movement looks so flat and Melbourne look like scoring every time they go forward. Pressure has been poor and we really are lacking any sort of overlap run and carry.

FOS and LDU had some nice moments through the midfield.

Duurs could’ve kicked a few, looks classy with ball in hand.

Dov has had a few nice moments with both his pressure and his cleanliness at ground level.

We don't have athletic players, so we can't close down or open space enough.

We don't have dangerous forwards unless in some space, so you can have an attacking defensive plan aainst us.

When we win it, we are more likely to kick to the opposition or a genuine 50/50.

We are not dangerous often enough

I know they touched us up last year at Arden St and then we torched them at Marvel weeks later.

I just hate coming into round 1 without any promising pre-season form.
The lack of run from behind is always a concern as that should be a given for any positive ball movement.

Kick-mark gameplan will get us nowhere.

There have been a few moments where we've transitioned the ball well, on other occasions we've let ourselves down with our kicking for goal. I think for me the most disappointing thing is how easily Melbourne have been able to transition the ball with little or no pressure from us, we genuinely don't know how to defend.

The overall lack of pressure is concerning - considering the competition for spots and the pressure on the club to climb the ladder.

To those of you who think it’s the players fault, you’re wrong. I’m of the firm belief that if you get a competent leadership at board and coaching level, this will translate on to the field. How could we cycle through so many players and yet they all seem so poor? It has to be cultural and developmental! This is why you see players like Mason Wood
