Swita out with delayed concussion. Bit of a worry given his history. :(

Fremantle are sweating on the fitness of one of their most important defenders less than three weeks out from their season opener, with Brennan Cox working to overcome a calf strain.

Cox copped a knock to his left leg during last weekend’s scratch match against West Coast, finishing the game with ice on his calf.

Dockers chief executive Simon Garlick on Monday confirmed it was a strain for the 27-year-old, ruling him out of Saturday’s practice match against Adelaide and leaving his status clouded for the March 15 season opener against Geelong.

“He won’t play this week, and we’ll assess that to see how significant it is,” Garlick said on SEN.

“It’s disappointing for Coxy - he’s had an incredible pre-season going at full RAT power.

“While he might not have the biggest profile in the competition, he’s a critical player for us.

“It’s a bit early to tell at this point (if it’s serious). He certainly won’t play against Adelaide this week, which is disappointing, because you want to get that last full dress rehearsal in before we play in round one.”

Anyone know what full RAT power means?

I had assumed it was something to do with actual rats, like when they run on the rat exercise wheel and make it spin like crazy, it's rat power (sometimes it's hamsters or mice), but as it's written like it's an acronym, maybe not.

Still 3 weeks away. I think we can 1 of them back. We should be ok.

It's 15 days away. If the injuries happened last Sunday they will be at day 20 on the 14th. Usually soft tissues are 21 days.

If it's just a bit of soreness or awareness, different story.

Alex Pearce can never be fit

Alex Pearce is by far our most important player, hes 30 and as injury prone as they come.

Making sure hes fit at the pointy end is so important, he should be getting rested multiple times through out the year imo.

Cox injury was 1-2 weeks back as well.

Yeah, Pearce won't make it if he has done a calf which looks likely. (Tweet did say minor calf injury)

Initially I read it, and just soreness.
