No Hardeman,, no Archer, no choice.
I don’t think either of those two dictate where McKercher plays, neither possess a similar skill set to what McKercher brings to his role in defense.

Hardeman does, Archer doesn't.
Hardeman is more McDonald than McKercher in terms of style. Think he’s a great pairing alongside McKercher instead of a like-for-like replacement of the role.

Few players are as confident - and lethal - with the goals ahead of them on the run.

Has developed confidence bordering on arrogance when he realises he's ahead of an oppo player by a meter.
Knows he can burn off anyone who comes at him.

Had enough composure to probably produce one of the plays of the day directly after fumbling a pretty straight forward handball receive. Probably only ldu was better in tight traffic yesterday. Pauley Curtis done a couple of nice things in congestion as well. Slightly different methods, Pauly with strength, ldu with finesse and Kerch with explosive acceleration.

Why would a cracked finger as reported prevent Colby from running and maintaining fitness for him to be on such reduced gametime on Sunday?
Didn't play any lead up matches - so while he may have had the 'miles in the legs' ...Colby was lacking match game fitness.

Expect his minutes to increase this week - especially in the open spaces of Optus oval.

Quickly becoming our most important player given his skill set of pace and skill.

Thought he was pretty impressive considering very little match play

could still tidy up his defensive side a bit but getting better....but to be fair you don't use a Ferrari in a demolition derby

The new rule changes are pretty much made for him.

He was statistically our best ball user last year.

Might even increase again this year with more space and speed of play.

He’s probably the most likely of our group next to break into the uber elite, people might disagree with that, but statistically he is.

His impact per disposal is levels above everyone else in the team. Most of them need to improve on aspects of their decision making and ball use etc.

Colby simply needs to just get it a few times more per game, every other part of his game checks out damage wise with the absolute best in the league.

He only had 11 touches on the weekend from the managed TOG but was deemed to have impacted as much as Sheezel and LDU with almost 3 times that.

Based on his averages, if he gets it 25 per game in this mid-fwd role, it’s very likely his overall rating will be at the same level as NWM, Daicos and Butters. Maybe as little as 23-25 disposals. Quite similar to Ed Richard’s in that regard. If he averaged 30 forward of center he’d be the #1 player in the comp.

Some people might compare him to someone like McCluggage in role, Colby is 20-25% more damaging on average per disposal and McCluggage is one of the most damaging players by foot in the league.

You can't beat pace, in any sport

Yep.

We take it for granted and people get frustrated at some turnover every now and then.

However we take for granted the raw speed and game breaking play sometimes.

There’s very few capable of it and he’s only really scratching the surface of it compared to when he gets truly arrogant and confident in his game at AFL level imo.
