Bazlenka or Holmes? Will there be much difference between the two? With my ideal trades I can only get to Holmes, otherwise I can change my second trade and squeeze Baz in. Feel like this will be the only time I can get either one until the byes.

Smith for me. Holmes is likely to be the one tagged out of the two as teams aren’t as scared of Smith’s disposal.

Holmes has surprisingly only averaged >100 once. Bailey Smith was the highest scoring player last year.

It's Bazlenka for mine, Dwayno.

Definetely baz. Ceiling scores.

I grabbed Holmes last week. You definitely want Sniff as everything I'm picking has been wrong to start the year.

Undecided on whether I bring in McKercher for Carroll, or just trade ZZ for Steene on the bench for some cash gen. Super annoyed ZZ didn't come back in this week for Gardiner.
Steele in for Windy is my other trade. And should have enough next week to get Ash/Sinc next week for Blakiston (assuming he gets his BE)

I feel like I’m very stuck on trades this week
I’m thinking either of these trades

Currently have Robertson and Marshall on my bench in the forward line not playing and Flanders on field with no DPP to help cover. Getting Bolton in helps with cash gen as well as getting a premo in the mids for an underperforming mid priced in Windy. Bolton helps with a potential premo score and this structures my forwards moving forward with playing rookie roulette with Marshall and Robertson at F6 moving forward.
Next week I will look to target McKercher or if he doesn’t look like a buy, I can trade Windsor to a Farrell/Lindsay type and trade Parish to a big dog.

Second trade I am looking at - I understand I have potentially missed the boat on Cook with his inflated price but I believe he has a lot more of a chance to contribute to best 18 and making more money than a Steene for example. These trades mean I hold Windy which isn’t the worst of chaos hits, as I’m sure he’s safe for a 70-80 (gross but). Next week I will be able to do a rookie fix up (potentially Blakiston) and upgrade Windy to whoever or even trade him to Kerch to save some cash for the week after.

What does anyone think?

1st set of trades looks good.

if going the 2nd set I'd skip Cook. You're correct and the boat is missed. The 1st game that comes along where he's on the cold wing and scores a 40 we'll all be jumping off.

Target the next crop instead and bank the extra little bit of coin. Lindsay, Farrow etc.

I’d go 1 and get the cash because you can at least get a decent player in for next week. 5k with the second trade isn’t enough to work with imo.

Although Bolton is a guy that might cook you later on because I don’t feel he’s gonna keep the tons up, but while he’s getting centre rotations it’s worth the punt

The red flag with Smith is he did play wing in opening round when Worpel was in the team and only scored an 80. Worpel has been out of the team since, but if he comes back it could push Bailey back to a wing. But he's been good the past 2 games.

I like it. Makes sense in theory and he's a proven scorer. I won't be going there personally though, too many mouths to feed at Brisbane which scares me off.

Him, Ashcroft, Neale, Mccluggage Zorko can all be 100-110+ players. But it's not often teams have 5 players averaging that much.
As a guess maybe the faster game style and lower stoppages hurts him. Also Brisbane being meh so far and less control of the ball

I have a feeling Worp comes back in because they really didn’t sign him up to be a depth piece.

If you're after a value defender then Kerch.

If you want to go straight to the big boys then Baz.

Hard to be any more definitive than that without knowing your team and budget. Worth looking ahead to next week's trades too.
This is my team.

Hard to say, 2 completely different price points. therefore different strategies.

I'd be going Kerch over anyone over $1.1M.
agree very different strats. Deciding whether to up to uber premo or go for value. Trading Parish to either. Kerch seems great value atm though.
