We competed and did okay for most of the game. It was high pressure footy from both sides and I think we just tired out towards the end, with Geelongs experience and home ground advantage coming good in the last. They stormed home but I felt the score made it look worse than it was. Helps it was probably our worst quarter of the year.

We cut out those red time goals in the third then we are probably still in it towards the final siren. Need to find a quality KPD and a younger version of Parker soon. It's very important we have good users down back.

Still think there are a few wins on the table against some of the middle groupings. A won down the highway would have been great but the result isn't surprising.

I can’t agree with you there, Spud. What is a serious football club anyway? Of course we are. We’ve got Harry, LDU, Curtis, FOS and Larkey.

A serious football club holds players, especially senior players accountable for their actions and performance on the field. We see the same senior players getting run out week after week despite making horrendous decisions, making terrible skill errors, are unfit and the backline outside of Parker has about half a brain cell between them all. A serious football club would acknowledge these issues and send them down to the VFL, and at least give young developing players a chance to see what they have got. What is the point of retraining Harvey to play off half back, he gets 25-30+ disposals in the new role and not given a crack? I know Dawson and Hardeman aren't fully fit but I'd rather they get a crack than Lmac, Daniels, Corr etc continuously doing the same thing week in week out. We know what we have in them. They aren't getting any better. Blood the young guys if we need to, but it's as they say, doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result is insanity

I had to leave 10 minutes before the end for my own safety and the safety of others probably the most disappointing quarter of football by North that it has been my misfortune to witness (and I’ve seen some pretty bad quarters of footy)

I’ve tried really hard to get onboard the ‘we’re heading in the right direction train’ but now I just don’t know. An awful awful display. Who do we blame? I’m going with the cattle, too many have been on the list for too long now without turning the corner. Just cull cull cull at the end of the season and go into serious debt to buy the best free agent talent that we can get.

Why were we all extra fumbly and terrible is disposal today? It was across the board. No one was clean. No one seemed to be able to hit their kicks or handballs. Yes I get the cats bought good pressure but even out in the clear we made terrible mistakes. Curtis for 1 just was couldn’t pick the ball up

One of the disadvantages of playing a side on their home deck. The ball can feel just different enough to affect how a player responds (bounce, feel etc).

This is a systemic problem. I can't remember who the forward line coach is but if he cant see and coach the forward line to actually lead at the ball carrier, then he should be out of a job. The midfield coach also needs to coach mids (and half forwards) to stop bombing it in on everyone's heads for them to take a pack mark. It's both a forward line and midfield issue.... the running patterns, and the delivery

Well home from Geelong. Just a horrible flashback to games at Subi against the Eagles same sort of feel to it and unfortunately similar type result.

Well some positives I guess, some homework had been done on us and we looked a bit frazzled early as a result but worked our way back. But thats it, in the end we lost by 48 or so, which is a pantsing. We are sloppy beyond belief, we had as much of the ball as them and just coughed it up. Good news we caused them to do the same for a little while but as soon as they went up a notch we werent interested and it felt like a zillion other games.

LDU played a good game but FFS nobody except maybe BF knobs are going to have a crack at you for having a ping. Trying to locate or hope one of the statues on our forward line will move isnt going to start happening. Its clear they just wont do that. Just fire away.

We have some rolled gold turnips in the team, my only salve at the moment is the hope that they start actually being looked at by the 'Real Clarko' who is supposedly emerging.

Surely a blind eye can't keep being turned to the glaring issues while we shuffle Blamires, rookie no.1, and mature age 4/10 in and out of the team, the selection equivalent of putting lipstick on a pig.

I reckon a pig with lipstick could lay more tackles than McDonald did tonight
