No, he can't. He was deployed as an offensive wing and an offensive half back. He's terrible defensively.

If you’re talking about replacing Langford as a ‘defensive wing’, then Martin is absolutely no worse. Langford’s defensive work is sub-VFL level

We need genuine speed. A shai Bolton type.

think this is why Butler is a very close second (Behind Harry Van Hattum) as my preference

a small fwd / mid with pace and goal sense and serious x-factr is something we have avoided like Tsatas does body contact

Something very satisfying and cathartic about an oppo whiteboard vindicating all the issues that you can see plain as day but people inexplicably tell you aren't real. Singling him out here, but the number of times people try to tell me that McGrath is actually a good kick and isn't a cough-up merchant...

Anyway - the senior players on here are getting some home truths about what their competitors think of them. You'd have to think that the views of their peers would be the opinions that players value more than any others, and some of them (Parish and McGrath in particular) would be feeling pretty stung right about now.

Yeah I didn't mind it at all. I hope it's been sitting in the back of a lot of our players' minds and it becomes a great motivator. Unfortunately I don't think it will change anything necessarily. Old habits die hard, and with some of our players those habits are rusted on.

Yeah McGrath isn't suddenly going to become composed under pressure and Parish will never turn into a two-way runner. They are what they are.

IF were to go off list needs;

1. Small forward
2. Leg speed (can be a running half back, can be a line breaking wingmen, can be a running half forward)
3. key defender
4. continue building midfield depth through youth

Yep, I have similar

1). Dedicated Small forward
2). Gut running fast hybrid small/half forward.
3). 1 on 1 key defender

I would like 1 +2 in the same player, and then have two of them.
