Pleasing

• Run and effort all day, but especially first half
• Spargo was good all day
• LDU was fantastic
• Wardlaw was fantastic
• Defensive structure did... pretty okay against the best team in the comp

Disappointing

• Umpiring atrocious. Criminal even
• Logue was poo
• Larkey was absolutely poo and killed so many chances
• LMac nah.
• Too many shit disposals and worse decisions
• Frustrating day despite being competitive against the #1 team in the comp.

Dishonourable loss. Not rated a good chance to win this, but we were in with a chance all day and just refused to get it done.

Someone said it in the gameday thread, Swans didn't win it, we lost it.

We HAVE improved, and significantly. We also still have a lot of the same issues, and they are more aggravating than ever now that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I also love that one of the things we do better than pretty much any other team in the competition is bring defensive pressure in spades and make the opposition earn it - what a bloody great trait to have to be known as a side that fights hard defensively.

Feels weird to say after 3 losses in a row but I feel better about our chances to make finals now than I did 3 weeks ago.

We're very good and there's really not much keeping this side from genuinely pushing into the top 6.

The non-HTB against that flog Heeney when George got him stone cold (right in front of the ump) changed the whole momentum.

The tackle on Log actually dislodged the ball and then another missed HTB against the flog which gave them another centre clearance.

because when we lower the eyes and put it into space you get disgracefull efforts like our captain lurking out the back hoping for a cheapie rather than leading hard into space, have a look at the hawks game and see how hard gunston works to lead into space....

Frustrating. But mostly because we're so close.

We can compete with anyone. But we need less high balls into F50. We need to kick better at goal. Larkey needs to be tougher. Our defenders need to stop the gift goals. The umpires need to stop treating us like cellar dwellers.

FOS was great. Wardlaw is a beast.

Pressure is fast becoming a not negotiable.

The difference between us and a side like Sydeny or Geelong is they're so well drilled that their shifts are automatic. It is why they can lose the i50s count and still walk out victors. They make their shots count.

We lack polish it is not just in defence either. Forward of the ball we are implementing what game plan exactly? Long bombs to who?

I understand their will be angst at losing there always is. We are growing every game.

Beyond frustrated. Our pressure was solid, our effort was there and we had every oppurtunity to win that game.

Sydney didn’t win it, we lost it with poor inside 50’s and terrible conversion in front of goal.

Simpkin, LDU, Sheezel, Zurhaar, Daniel and McDonald all with multiple trash inside 50’s.

We remain our own worst enemies.
