A message has to be sent.

If he makes 1 change again and drops Dov for Wardlaw and Powell survives along with both Corr/McDonald - that says to me everything I need to know about Clarko and if he’ll be with us long term.

I hear this all the time that Clarko doesn't drop the senior players but he certainty isn't alone there every senior coach does the same and have for decades.

Who's our man charged with making us run more, run faster and to advantage. From my seats (pretty good) it appeared we were taught a lesson on making oneself an option.

We were great but just a bit lethargic.

Thankfully we have Goad, Goater and George up our sleeve.

I liked Clarko from the get go and still do - but Wil Dawson's selection yesterday - and performance - highlights his greatest weakness - his continuing reliance on jack average and limited senior players.

Wil hasn't developed in the last 8 weeks - he could have put that performance in yesterday in Round 1 - yet here we are more than a third through the year.

With Kerch, FOS, George and Harry again in our best players against quality opposition, it's pretty clear who's coming up short.

We won't bridge that gap until we keep displacing the underperforming senior players.

Hardeman has to come in next week.

Because we’re 3 1/2 years in and we still get torched on the rebound.

The amount of space that is left between 30-60m out for teams to rebound in to is phenomenal.

To read that we've low-balled Hardeman and trapped him in the VFL this year, when he was basically best 23 by the end of last year, is just perplexing. I know he's had an interrupted start to the year but he should be coming straight back in for a 'least of our problems' player in the backline next week.

NMFC owes a duty of care to retain and play Hardemann. If they do not do this, it is just another example of incompetence at the List Management office. It make me sick watching this play out.

We need Archer fit and running for 2027. He is needed in this team. Strength and neuromuscular control needed for the next few months. He is young, he can recover very quickly but need to work on strength to prevent another injury.

Does Clarkson no how to use a phone in the box for messages to the ground, I have never seen him use it, compared to other coaches, all he does is watch the ball, like a spectator watching, no positive or negative moves or feedback. But I bet he uses uber at home

To be fair, I think they also said that he's unlikely to leave, but it still feels like a pretty low offer considering he's positioned to be a pretty important player for us moving forward. We've always known that West Coast will try to lure him over, just don't think we should be mucking around with him.

Firstly, I think, by definition, a 21 year old being offered a two year contract extension in April is not a lowball. It would be bad if we kept him hanging on until halfway through the season, or even later, before offering him something, but not April.

And putting it in perspective, if he got four years, that gets him to 2030, which would equal only Sheezel (2030), Xerri (2031), and LDU (2032). Three years is 2029, matching Simpkin, Zurhaar, Trembath and Larkey.

One year would be a pretty shitty offer, but starting at two and ending at two or three years seems fine to me.
