Sounds like Serong's issue is nerve related rather than muscular.
Don’t read too much into Jim Bostock’s marketing about “nerve locks” (no anatomical evidence that these exist). It’s still just dry needling for myofascial pain. He just uses multiple, rapid, repeated punctures. The big insight here is that Serong’s almost certainly been playing with pain for quite some time, possibly most of the season. This is not a treatment for an acute calf injury. Hopefully it works and we might see him recapture AA form.

Pretty amazing to think this is Sam Sturts 8th season with the club - for a total of 31 games and 43 goals.

Morabito only managed 7 seasons and he was expected to sit firmly alongside Fyfe, Barlow and Mundy as our best.

Good in the club for persevering with him, and I do hope the investment pays off.

If he comes back what amazing depth

Went down to watch him at Peel and he really was a rare talent

Would Sturty make us a bit top heavy up forward? As talented as he is we are playing 3 big fellas already. But he is quick and classy. Winger?

With Sturt it's a case of "wait and see what he looks like in the WAFL". When Sturt's at his best, he's contributing defensively and in the contest. But he's coming from a way's back.

Realistically I'd be surprised if he shows enough to get a starter dropped. More likely is he does what the best guys outside the 23 do. Show enough to keep yourself in the convo, and when your chance comes through a forced change you take it. NOD has been the prime example of that this season. He's been good but not amazing in the WAFL, keeping himself in the convo. But he's taken his chances when he's got them.

He was great in the final we beat the Hawks. Guessing 2011 or 2012.

Such a bit what if.
It was 2010 home elimination final at Subi.

I can still remember him streaming forward and commentator says "Pav is out, kick it to him son. But he decides to go himself and NAIL IT"

That 2010 final was one of our most satisfying finals wins. Hawthorn were coming off that recent 08 premiership and all the Hawks fans on here were talking about the following week's match against Geelong as if coming over here and beating us was a foregone conclusion.

They started the season terribly and then had a late surge, including thumping us by over 100 points 2 weeks prior. Morabito is my biggest football “what if”, because if he followed the expected trajectory then he could have been the difference in 2013.

Young, O'meara and Mcdonald seem the likely changes for Johnson, Cox and Pierce. If Pierce gets up, you could bring in Davies instead of Mcdonald and give Scerri a run in the two's. Just need one vet KPD to cover Larkey, Ryan can handle Darling.

Pretty solid depth at the moment tbh. Handy bye too for Serong, Johnson and Cox.
Looks like i was pretty close. JLo going the set and forget route with O'mac instead of Davies, but that surprises no-one...

Mine is also a cursed knee, but mine is JL. Imagine Longmuir supporting Pav instead of Zac Clarke.

On that 100 point loss, it's worth remembering that Freo rested about 10-12 of our best players for that game. No team has the depth to cover that and we obviously lost by plenty.

Remember at the time having no concerns we'd beat Hawthorn in the qualifying final.

Yeah I remember that was by far and away the most confident I've ever been going into a final. Always thought the Hawks noise was just the usual Vic bubble hubris that season.
