Was in the car earlier on today and Kiss’s I Was Made for Loving You came on the radio and it instantly took me back and put a smile on my face. What a magnificent day it was!

That song will forever be associated with that day and our grand final win for me now (much in the same way Lionel Ritchie and All Night Long is from 2010).

So good to be triggered in a good way when reminded of a GF.

Just looking through hundreds of photos of people with the cup on the Brisbane and Gold Coast leg of the tour. All smiling.
I'm there, the guy in front of me was a born and bred Queenslander and QAFL player and the guy behind was at the 1970 grand final.
Cup Tour is brilliant.

A bit left of field by David Bowies' Heroes was blaring around the ground after the presentation awaiting for the players to come around the ground. Left to soak in the occasion while it played sends me immediately back to the feeling whenever I hear it on the radio

We've enjoyed grand final wins around a full moon since 1990.

1990 - full moon Oct 4 won GF Oct 6
2010 - full moon Sept 23 drawn GF, won Oct 2
2023 - full moon Sept 29 won GF Sept 30

Is there a full moon around September 28 next year?

Yep. I Was Made For Loving You is now permanently associated with our 2023 Flag for me as well now which is great news because I already loved that song before. Now I simply love it even more.

I loved hearing that Bowie number after the game. In fact the post-GF music (after we sang the Collingwood song about ten times😍) was fantastic. Some ripper songs and very entertaining. Well done MCG.

It's on the Cup Tour hub on the Collingwood website. You should be able to sign into it whether you went to one of the events or not. Thousands of happy faces in all sorts of magpies shirts and jumpers.
