04 Draft - Egan, Monfries or Russell?

Well now there has been some time since then, who would you prefer, in hindsight?

After a year and a bit ,Monfries .
Egan's done some pretty things at AFL level but is an inconsistent twig and Russell has yet to establish himself.
I'd wait another 2/3 years before I start celebrating or bemoaning any of them.

Although Monfries looks better, we really needed Egan's pace, and still will going forward.

A bit ridiculous to compare second year players though, when one's getting a regular game and the other two aren't.

Monfries, has shown he has a big future plus plenty of leardship potential.

Egan has shown to be a good flashy player, but is a bit of a hot head, and pretty cocky as well. Not sure whether he will make it yet.

Havn't even seen Russell play.

monfries is a gun and will be for many years. russell is still establishing himself but will be a good, unspectacular player. egan is just crap.

Was impressive today no doubt, Polo was also steady. Both will be good players. Richmond has done well.

Overall, Monfries is providing the best service to his club currently.

Russell, because he is more suited to the modern game than the other two players with his pace and size and the fact Egan is a softco<k.

Monfries has done more to date but lacks the pace and versatility Russell posseses.

Jordan is developing nicely in the VFL and deserves a game going on his impressive form in the past 2-3 weeks.

Yet Pagan prefers the Devil he knows so he isn't getting a game even though he's good enough.

Russell had a terrific VFL game on the weekend where he played against two physically ready kids who are projected to go in the first or second round this year.

Monfries was recruited as a centreman, yet he is currently too small to play there. So he is doing his development in the FP/HFF. He is averaging more than a goal a game in a side averaging just 89 points a game, including a 5 goal haul. In the next 2 years we will see his versatility.
