Interesting if true simply because his raw attributes were obvious back then and we flung speculative picks for Warren Benjamin and Brayden Norris on basic athletic attributes.
And don't forget Leaping Brad Moran. :stern look

Jam it Zondors, Brad Moran got a Rising Star nomination.

Big men take time.
No probs mate.

I've been known to "Jam" it. :stern look

I'm a rising star. :stern look

And as a "Big" Man I do take time. :stern look

And all done with a stern look. :stern look

Nonsense article. Can't help but feel like other blokes are trying to pump up their own tyres. Just more pressure for Majak to take on, the footy dept didn't want him and had to be convinced. Any chance of any of these blokes involved having a little humility and saying nothing, or "It's a credit to Majak and the footy department"?
"Nah I'll give myself a pat on the back here!"
Not Euge's style, but I'd love to not hear from him. Maybe it's not his fault, but I'm not liking his "omnipotence".
Agree with above, article had no point.

It is understandable, he was a very long-term prospect, 4-5 years with little real promise of an early dawn. If you had a lot of development space on your list it is one thing, but when you have very little that is another.

Given we shoved Nifty out of the airlock for using voodoo to pick names out of a hat I guess people didn't want to accuse our guys of making a bad that went outside of their recruitment policy.

Maybe the Age should be talking about how lucky Majak was to be drafted by a football club with such a good football developmental department instead of this social "agenda".

The paragraphs about the multicultural engagement program, and potential AFL pathways for recent migrants to participate in our game are interesting, but the rest of article feels like a backhanded compliment, praising us for the work and commitment we have put into Majak and the Huddle, while slapping us in the face because we saw Majak's recruitment as a gamble. Weird.

There is a verygood point in all this & a huge tick to our football club.

If Majak had of ended up at Melb I think it is fair to say he maybe sitting on the scrapheap somewhere

& no one ever seeing what he was capable of (Similar to J Watts).

This is why I love our club so much, Once your in the NMFC then you have everychance to get 110% out of

yourself as a player but even more becoming a better person.

NMFC Forever !!!!!:thumbsu:

James Demetriou - the Trevor Chappell of the family. If he wants to lay claim to the recruiting coup of Majak, perhaps he should wait at least until Maj produces results against someone other than the worst defence in the AFL. Don't get me wrong, I want to see Maj succeed as much as anyone, but this is just an ego-driven and imbecilic urge to claim credit for the creation of a superstar, when anyone with half a brain can see that Maj is very much a work in progress and a product of the patience and persistence of the development team at Arden St. Get stuffed Demetriou, NMFC and the Huddle are well rid of you.

Well they should be declaring any 3rd party deals so shouldn't have any more leverage than us. It's a poorer club with cap space to burn which would be the bigger threat.

I get not overdoing the marketability but Majak needs to be kept a North player for a hell of a lof of reasons.

From a pure footy point of view we've put 4 years into a tall athletic project player and should make sure we get to enjoy the fruits of this for the next decade.

Soon enough the Australian football world will get to find out who the real majak is. So far we've mostly been impressed by his level headed family orientated outlook in his footy and club. If the bag of cash is thrown on the table will he turn out to be another tiger woods fake. If so then ill be glad he goes as i wouldn't want my son to hero worship anyone lacking in the moral fibres that is north melbourne.

Yep, just what the world needs.....more Demetrious.

Did anyone else read this article and think...."Gee, I'm starting to think I might have worked out which one of Euge's allies might be the bitter and twisted ex-employee feeding vitriol to The Age"?
