Wrapt when the Purple Headed Warrior ( Damien Barrett) announced that Majak signed up for another 2 years. Now to Sign up a few more, especially Aaron Black.

Glad that Daw recognises a lot of his success is due to the hard work that NM has put into him and didn't go chasing bigger $$ somewhere else. Would be interesting to see what $$ he signed for because it's hard to put a price on potential. I imagine it would be the low $200's. Not a bad way to make a good living, keep up the good work Maj and you'll have a ten year career that will set you up for life and put a premiership medal around your neck.

With all the current re-signings it just goes to prove that as the saying goes
"Be it ever so humble, there's no place like Home"......We are family........:D
And the old principle of cleaning out cap space as we did last year:thumbsu:. Now have to hope the team take the next step collectively.

Word on the street is the canteen ladies are holding off talks until the end of the season.

Having trouble with the new state of the art appliances that are push button and no dial's to turn I am hearing.

Great work Maj !!!!
They should be grateful we bought them this last year:

Yay, I must admit I'd had a few sleepless nights, ( ok that might be down to the lack of 'smoke' ) I thought he might chase the dollar elsewhere.

Some might say he'll replace Petrie in two years, I reckon by rd 10 in 2014.

This is fantastic news for us, woohoo!!

Agreed, not sure the dollars chasing him wouldve been that big however. He's got lots of work to do, but does have the X-Factor with that huge leap. Set us up a few goals with his ruck work and keeps Goldy fresher. That said its not going to be easy in dislodging Petrie, Black, Tarrant up forward, buts he's only one injury or form slump away and repays the faith of the club. Good stuff Maj and good luck!

I hope you guys got some AFL ambassador bonus money in that contract for Majak, he is a big deal for the AFL and you took the risk on him.

Why? Just a player like any other imo of which we have numerous better - he's knocking on the door which is great.

Really? Ever been to Sudan?, Ever been to Egypt? I looked up the Sudan Times and there was an article on Maj next to an article about a anti aircraft gun purchased via 'community benefit'. Two kids about twelve looked heaps impressed by their new purchase.

Don't under sell this , not many more amazing stories in AFL footy.

I think he is more marketable for the AFL than he is for the Roos, he'll get his face posted all over AFL multicultural media and open avenues in the minds of young men and women who hadn't thought of kicking the odd shaped ball.

He is great for the game, which is good for the Kangaroos. It's all good news, I'd just like to think that ambassador funds can flow to a player based in Melbourne as well as into expansion markets.

It's like one back for the rest of us "regular" football state clubs.

Good point actually. Might be 'too late she cried', but I like the thinking here. If GWS can get even more support (to land Buddy) with 'AFL Ambassador' money, why not North Melbourne?

Majak Daw will have knee surgery today which will sideline him for six months. story soon in the herald sun

EXCITING North Melbourne forward Majak Daw will have surgery on his knee today which will sideline him for six months.
Daw has had a posterior cruciate ligament problem which the club has managed during the season.

But North Melbourne decided this week the timing was right to put an end to the emerging forward's season in favour of surgery.

Daw, who kicked four goals in the VFL last week, could have played out the season.

It's expected Daw will be available to resume full training in February.

Meanwhile, North Melbourne coach Brad Scott said enforcer Jack Ziebell would be given until the last minute to prove he has overcome an ankle problem sustained in last week's loss to Adelaide.

Ziebell, who has broken both his leg before, landed awkwardly on his left ankle in the goal square sending shock waves through the Kangaroos camp.
