I'd like to see him stay in the team, but I don't think he will. Can't see Scott dropping Waite, Petrie or Brown, and obviously Goldstein is our full time ruckmen. Can not see Daw playing in the same team as all those guys for team balance reasons.

I honestly think Majak will end up hurting us more if he stays in our 22. He's game sense is terrible.
That open goal miss was bad but I can wear that (everyone makes mistakes) but what really disappointed me as soon as he missed he walked off to the right pocket with his hands on his hips while he's opponent was free on the left side for a quick easy escape for the kick out which ended up in a fast end to end goal to Daniher. That sorta stuff is what has kept him out of our side.

Thomas could've done a lot more to alleviate that situation. Terrible body language following the miss for a supposed leader of the club.

Give him the carlton game and rest brown. Maj played a reasonable game if not for a couple misses we wouldve said wow 4 goals what a game. He deserves his spot for next week. Brownys was not very good at all a rest would do him good.

oh
I have to call BULLSHIT, some in here would be saying "just Essendon he wont do that against a club like Hawthorn";)

God help us if toddy has an injury. Our game is based around midfield dominance starting from his tap work. An injury to him and we run around like chooks with no heads trying to figure out a plan B. Maj isn't good enough to take petrie wait or brownies spot from them but none of them are serious replacements for tod. I thought at least he showed enough to be a reasonable replacement for any of the 3 talls if they needed a spell. Short of that i think he'll just have to bide his time.

Word on the street- very happy with Majak's game.

Did what was asked of him. As it's only Monday, will keep my powder dry.
Be competitive in the ruck, don't fly when our other talls are, and kill them all at ground level?

One of the many crosses against Maj was not following instructions am at this stage not privy to much more than he'll play next weekend.

So to answer your question he followed out his orders, what ever they were.

I'd love to see him get an extended run at it. Really happy he's playing next week.

****, you might be onto something.
Just glad that by all reports they aren't holding the missed shots and second half against him, some made a bit too much out of that. Accuracy can be worked on and is less of an issue when comfortable at the level, and every single one of his team mates (who ARE comfortable at the level) went to Boomer's place for drinks an hour and a half early as well.

I thought he did the three things I queried pretty well, was curious as to whether those were what he was being judged against or whether there were others as well/instead.

Cheers. So in the past a big issue has been him being ill disciplined in regards to how they want him to play? Probably makes him being subbed/dropped from certain games a bit more understandable.

Ya know he could become a midfielder, which is why all the talls played.

Great little heartfelt interview, sometimes it's easy to forget the value of wonderful people and what they achieve for the broader community which extends well past 120 minutes of footy on a weekend.

Didn't realuse they are great mates and it explains LTs reaction to Majaks goal from the boundary.

Considering how bad the character assassination of Lindsay Thomas has been at the hands of Channel 7 ect. It would be nice if they done a feature on Thomas that highlighted all the wonderful things he does off the field for the indigenous community.

It's an absolute blight on our game that he gets talked down as a human being (not a football player) for acts that he does on the footy field. Maybe if some of the wider community understood his background and his endeavours to improve regional indigenous communities they might not be so critical of his character on the field.

It annoys me that Goodes was considered to be a saint while Thomas is made out to be a criminal

Probably no coincidence that they are close. With both having gone through the mill over the years and both live with the "wall of racism" despite their different backgrounds, there is probably a degree of mutual understanding. Will be doing some stuff with the Huddle and look forward to seeing them in a different guise to the footballing. No doubt some of the North youngsters who have grown up with a bit of a monocultural lens will be learning a lot through their influence. Enjoyed that video.

Neglected Daw a Juicy Trade Bait.

This is what will happen if Maj is not given more opportunity, he will want to be traded to another club and will flurish leaving us with out a all round ruck man, once Goldy gets injured and it will happen or tires we will be in the sh&t.

Just imagine if Maj went to the dogs, the media would be circle jerking.

What is the situation with rookies, can you trade them?
I don't believe so.

Edit - rookies can be traded but need to become senior listed players to where they are traded.

I still firmly believe Maj will remain a Roo.

If someone is willing to offer us a second round draft pick or an outside mid fringe type, I reckon the club will jump at the chance to offload him. That is a big if however and Daw has a lot more to do and prove over the remainder of the VFL season.

Preuss clearly showed on the weekend that he is progressing nicely and with Goldstein still having four to five years of quality football ahead of him, I reckon we are fine either way without Majak. Should Drew and/or Waite retire at season's end, Black can come in and fill that void with Wood playing deeper as well. Majak is therefore redundant at North and if opportunities do open up for him elsewhere that allow the club to get something half decent in return then that will suit both parties well.
Part of a Lachie Neale deal?

Against * no forward remotely looked like taking a mark except Daw

Reading the tea leaves from Scott's comments I think Daw misses out this week.

He can consider himself very unlucky if so.

Probably at the wrong club for the time being but that can change quickly with form/injury/suspension.
