The Port game really did show the supporters exactly where we are this season and the areas that need to be fixed and worked on. (Like a lack of tall, reliable backman.) But, heres a few positives taken from the game to get you thru the week.......

1. NLM gets better every week
2. Kepler is getting better ( little by little) every week
3. They put Mc Phee in the centre a few times (been waiting for that)
4. Showed how important A.Lovett will be to our midfield.we missed his pace and ball carry against port
5. Winderlich really had a go and busted his guts to get the ball
6. Stanton continues to impress, good long steady kick for goal, attacks the ball hard, can only get better.
7. We can be sure now. This will be Boltons last year.I hope........
8. MJ played well.lacks a little pace but is still going in hard and having clean disposals
9. Welsh is getting back to his good form again.
10. Paddy is getting better at the ruck duals and ......

11. TOP 5 Draft pickings are coming our way!!!!!!!!!!

12. Johns looked more like a footballer with his hair cut (but sure didn't move like one!)

Yeah, a week closer till the start of 2007 lol

We are definately good enough to play finals even in 2007, name our best 22 (injury free) add a Bryce Gibbs??? and tell me it isn't a good side. Dunno about Hirdy, if ever we need a petition it should be for him to play another year :thumbsu:

At least we will be able to experiment and learn a lot about our list over the year so that we can make the hard decidions either way on some players over the off season.

On a side note we may go for Hansen before Gibbs....

If hirdy dosn't get any serious injuries that require any operations this year, he will play on in 07' i think. What else has he got to do with his spare time? I don't think he is anywhere near finshed with playing footy yet.As long as his body holds out with no major breaks he will be right,he still loves playing.Mental toughness in "old age" he has. Like C.Bradley and Tuck!

1. NLM gets better every week

- His best footy is still ahead of him. I rated him as a potential all australian at the start of the year. Longy has he impressed you?

2. Kepler is getting better ( little by little) every week

- Why don't they play hiim as a permanent ruckman?

3. They put Mc Phee in the centre a few times (been waiting for that)

- Does anyone know if his got the engine to play on the ball?

4. Showed how important A.Lovett will be to our midfield.we missed his pace and ball carry against port

- 3 weeks was harsh but he needs to pull his head out

5. Winderlich really had a go and busted his guts to get the ball

- Deserves to play the rest of the season out

6. Stanton continues to impress, good long steady kick for goal, attacks the ball hard, can only get better.

- Agree

7. We can be sure now. This will be Boltons last year.I hope........

- Hopefully. You reckon Henneman will be joining him?

8. MJ played well.lacks a little pace but is still going in hard and having clean disposals

- That's all we can ask.

9. Welsh is getting back to his good form again.

- He needs to get better than his good form

10. Paddy is getting better at the ruck duals and ......

- Send him to the gym and Bendigo and give Cartledge (if fit) a chance

11. TOP 5 Draft pickings are coming our way!!!!!!!!!!

- Can't Wait!

12. You just get the feeling with Johns that everythings gonna click and he starts kicking bags

13. Hirdy will play on for one last shot I reckon.

Absolutely. And I'm very happy to be wrong.

My major two critisisms of him were the he seemed frightened and he fumbled too much below his knees.

He backs back into packs every week, huge improvement and great to see. Full credit to him.

Still needs to work on his skills below his knees though.

i will be hated for this but unfortunately i actually believe it will be hird's last year.
1. he's body isn't holding up and
2. he's gallant efforts when he does play no longer make a difference to the result.
3. Before our poor start hird gave indications it may be his last year, our poor form makes this more likely in my opinion.

On a good note when he comes back, our attendences should be up because all bomber fans (i believe he still has some good games in him) should go see this great man play while we still can. (when he gets back that is)

One last thing in the next few weeks you will c "Sheedy state it probably is hirdy's last year" a ploy to urge bomber fans to games and build our attendences.

i hope im wrong.

Tool. Boltons been alright this year, he's been trying every week, giving 100%. Give me 22 players trying ahead of people like MJ and Solly who aren't doing anything.

 McPhee was terrible on Cornes , spent two quarters just jogging along 20 meters behind the play looking for soft kicks. I thought it was one of the worst games i have seen him play :(

Buddy there is no need for personal insults but if anyone is the tool it is you. Mark Bolton will NOT put his body on the line when it really counts. He provides no protection to the youngsters, no leadership and is a 190+ outside receiver which is fine except for the fact that he is 26+, doesnt hurt opposition with his disposal and we are not good enough to carry a mediocre outrider. Theres a saying which is "better to have been a hasbeen rather than a neverwas" Solly especially may be finished but show a little respect for players who protect youngsters and play with serious discomfort every week.

14. nba playoffs are on.. go for a few more weeks hopefully by the time they have finished essendon are back on the winners list :).. all i hope is we can notch up a few wins towards the end of the season and give the team and youngsters some confidence for 07.. but in 06 we are the cagged tiger... that will break loose in a few games and upset all!

I think you need the Tool award here . Solly and Mj havnt been great but not giving 100% isnt a trait either of them posses.Poor form yes but both have a real go.
Bolts has been giving 100% and deserves some credit but we are in real trouble if he is in our best 10 every week because he simply isnt up to it. One good season isnt good enough.

This may or not be Bolt's last year, but it is silly to be unloading on him this year. There have been plenty worse than him, but it's just easier to have a crack at everyone's favourite whipping boy isn't it. Wonder who it will be next year?

Bolton has played about 100 games,5-6 years on the list i think.
Name one game where he has been best on ground or had a bunch of games where he has stood out and dominated a game, or a quarter, or even a minute of play????????? I can't name one!
He is the whipping boy at the moment, but i have had enough of his mistakes.Kicks too high, has the "bunny caught in the headlight" look when he gets the ball, dosn't take many over head marks.....etc
That goal square muck up when he let Cox run around him and kick that goal was the very last straw for me as a supporter. He is like thousands of A grade footballers around the country.Would stand out in any non AFL league team, but when it comes to the big league, the elite,he just dosn't make the grade i'm afraid.
I don't want the EFC spending any more time waiting for his development to improve.....surely his time has ran out.I know I can't wait any longer..
OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF WITH HIS HEAD!! CHOP CHOP!
