Maybe its due to pathetic "top up" recruiting of the bottom few clubs.

Your side hasnt escaped topping up its list in recent years...

I'm sure MM is proud of having Malloy, Rintoul and Woewoeful being part of the Magpie 'tradition'.

Lol, clarkson said he could see how far the team has come from last year. Last year 189 vs 52 iirc.

So if Hawthorn get beaten by a huge margin again, what does that mean for clarkson? it means that the team has gone nowhere since last year?

I mean, he said so himself....

2007 had two 100-point wins in September the only time this century it has happened in two finals matches.
Pretty crazy finals series. On the one hand you had some of the best finals games you'll ever see, including a match that went to extra time, but then you had two 100+ point beltings, including the first and only 100+margin in a Granny.

What was also nuts that Port went into that match having flogged North by pretty close to 100 points themselves.

Only time in September it happened

Essendon's QF win over North in 2000 occured in August due to the early start/finish to the season

Many thought the GF would be close but no-one expected Geelong to win that year's Grand Final by 119 points with Port's Grand Final experience and their easy Prelim win at Footy Park vs North 7 days earlier
