Feel for the guy taking personal leave - seems he lost pace with the knee and achilles injuries over the past 5 years and with the lack of kicking skills it wasn't a combination that was going to work. People saying he was soft but I saw him go into a number of contests he was always going to be crunched including one time against the monolith McLean from Sydney that ended badly for him. If in fact he is getting cut and paid out he should look at it as a nice payday. Sounds like Rosa being aggressive in improving our list.

I feel like he used to be able to burn off opponents with speed and craftiness. probably did it during junior footy and early years at the Saints

Saints are my wife's team, and I watch a lot of them. I always thought he offered a lot. Seems the injuries did him in, because he just can't get any separation on his opponent with the ball (and can't chase anyone down)

Didn't want him when we were first looking to recruit him, didn't see what need he'd actually fill in our team, and in the 2 years he's been here he didn't prove me wrong. He only ever played good footy at the Saints when he was being given decent midfield time, which wasn't going to happen here. If it's true that he's being cut early then I think it's a good decision.

He's been dropped and played VFL before. Sub multiple times. He is not in the clubs or coaches plans

Smith was a gun in his first year with the club! Unfortunately his body didn’t hold up
