Totally agree.

Still i dont see Hibberd, Zacka as guys you've mentioned as being that quick.

Still i think if we can put forward career best seasons from Winders and Dempsey to align with Colyers 2014 and Cooney as an addition we can become quite dangerous. I think we have enough there now.

Hibberd and Zaka a definite line breakers. They may not leave a trail of fire like Davey at his best but they are quick enough.

How do we now compare with speed in comparison to

Geelongs 2014 Murdoch, Varcoe, Christensen, Motlops?
Sydneys L.Jetta, Rohan, Lloyd, Cunningham, Mcglynns?
Hawks I.Smith, Hill, Breust, Rioli, Suckling ?
Fremantle S.Hill, D.Pearce, Mundy, Ballantyne, Walters?

I think we have made up significant ground

We need all of Colyer, Dempsey, Winderlich, Cooney firing at the same time, which has never happened.

Walters and Mundy aren't quick

Is there a rationale to the selection of players?

The thing with Freo, for example, is that I'd put Mzungu, Ibbotson, De Boer and I think it is Sutcliff or Sheridan (can't remember which) in front of Mundy, Pearce and Walters for overall running ability and even work rate.

At Sydney thrown in McVeigh and Jack ahead of basically everyone. Hannebery looks like s**t but is a machine.

Not much point comparing the top 5 if teams bat down to 10.

Im talking purely on speed and breaking a game open.

Work rate - Stanton is as good as any just about in my mind and Heppell is getting there.

Jack is one i missed, Hanneberry work rate yes, im not sure id classify him as super quick but he can break the lines.

Id have Hanneberry with Zacka as similar in that way.

My point is more we have been lacking that real outside quick speed which the top teams seem to have in spades. I think we are slowly getting there and Colyer was a big reason why to us improving. Cooneys a great additions and we just need good seasons from Winders and Dempsey also wouldnt mind pushing Winders further up the ground if his body will allow.

We need Dempsey's 2013 with Hibberd's 2014 in 2015 and we will have one of the most damaging half backs in the comp.

This is the scary thing.

Dempsey's best was 2012 (?), whilst Hibberd was in 2013 and Hooker 2014.

Put them all in the one team and watch out

One thing I've been critical about Hird's tenure is the way he is molding this guy. Get him back on the wing please and let him play his run and carry game again.

i like his tackling and pressure but yeah dat disposal tho.
still, i'd have him in the team and hope he can find that form from a couple of years ago

His intensity was overcompensating for the lack of it from everyone else.

I don't see anyone giving Howlett a hard time for giving away the frees he did.

Dempsey is going ok. Yet to get his kicking and attack back on song though.
