Has all the tools. It'll be interesting if his confidence grows what kind of player he might become.

Going to be interesting viewing, seeing all the parts come together, he has massive tank and fantastic kick of the ball and watching Daniel, McKercher, Sheezle running it out of defence and switching the ball to an open Stephen’s is space is going to be a thing of beauty.
Even in the forward half, just by adding Darling, might give Larkey that bit of extra space for an easy forward entry.

Thinking of Fisher.

The Swans have parted with Stephens and pick 25 and received North's end of first-round pick next year plus its pick 44 this year. North later moved the pick 25 along with pick 21 to Carlton in exchange for pick 17 and defender Zac Fisher.

It was 44 and a pick that became 26 last year for Stevens and 25 in 2023.

That 26 may have been handy in hindsight.

We used 25 (in 2023) and our pp 21 (I think it became pick 29 on draft night) to get Fisher and 17 off Carlton.

It's looking more sketchy as time moves on, especially in the context of last draft - Caleb Daniel and the Matlock Expressway - but alot depends on how Fisher and Stephens perform in the next two seasons. (Fisher had a much better year than we give him credit for and looks in better shape now Stephens ... Meh))

And how Wil Dawson turns out. If he's good enough on his own the trade might be worth it.

Whats uncontracted got to do with it? He was being offered a contract by Sydney. To move him out of Sydney to the worst team in the AFL yes we gave him an extended contract.

I think he gets written off a bit because he gets pigeonholed as part of the list management and shit ladder position issues, ie "we wasted a priority pick on this bloke", rather than actually being looked at as a player.

He doesn't, or didn't, help himself, though. It was an effort against Richmond or Gold Coast that had my entire section apoplectic. Hadn't seen that since JHF, and before that... I can't remember

lol no, I have a feeling that this year he becomes that running beast / link up player coming out of half back that we recruited him for. It’s hard being a confidence player, playing in the worst team in the league

He played in a grand final so he must’ve been going alright. How old was he when he was playing for them? Not every player comes into the league like Harry Sheezel or George Wardlaw.
