Drop him or get someone who knows about how to kick a football show him something;)

It was only one quarter, we kicked 2.11 in the 3rd quarter, for the other 3 quarters we kicked 15.10, which is very acceptable, especially for us.

I'd take 3 accurate quarters a week, especially after last week.

True but 2.11 is Appealing and we should have 4 Good Goal Kicking Quaters

It is a concern. We thrashed Hawthorn all over the ground, we won't be getting 38 scoring shots every week, need to make the most of every opportunity. The last 2 Grand Finals were decided by accuracy, it is important.

in fairness I think 6 were posters, so we are getting better
when I got home last night watched the match again on foxtel and Matthew Lloyd was very critical of the so called sports scientists having too much say about players doing to much work, and he was very critical of cloke how he rotates his hips too much.
Lloyd also went on to say that its upto the forwards to say to the fitness guru's to piss off my job is to kick goals and that they should take it upon themselves to do the extra training.

I agree with Lloyd here - Stuff the Fitness People, Goals win Games and if you can't do that then what is the Point?

That is the key point. BT always says that he was discouraged from holding goal kicking practice sessions at Collingwood. This morning I heard Robert Shaw saying that Lloyd and Lucas would often be out on their own taking goal kicking practice in their spare time. If Cloke and co want to kick 500+ goals over their career, then there is nothing stopping them taking it upon themselves to work on their game in their spare time.

I think it is interesting that St Kilda are the most accurate team in the league yet they are also a very well conditioned team and i'd wager they are one of the better teams with injuries over the last few years too. It just goes to show that both kicking accuracy and conditioning aren't mutually exclusive. I imagine the guy they poached from the Swans has played a big role in this.

There is far too much negativity on this board. If we were kicking 30.4 and winning in April i would be far more concerned.

Perfection will do me in the last week of september.

With respect to you cthor, the kicking is a significant concern.

I agree it wouldn't be if our forwards all had perfect techniques and they just had a bad night, or it was windy, or they were mainly only missing from tight angles.

However, that is not the case.

It is a technique issue and also secondarily a confidence issue.

These are rectifiable problems, and it does appear that through questionable advise from the fitness guys, that it is not being addressed.

In September, accuracy decides games.

Lloyd identified specific issues last night and we'd be silly to ignore this aspect IMO.

We kicked the goals that mattered, we didn't shank any 'easy' shots to speak of, and considering our delivery is always into the hardest spots for our forwards to take set shots - 17.21 is fine IMO.

It seems obvious to me that players are taking team insructions a bit too far. It's pretty obvious that one of the major focus for our forwards is applying pressure and trying to lock the ball into the forward line. goals would take the ball back to the centre of the ground, whereas points keep it in our half.
It seems that Chris Dawes is very likely to play against essendon, as he finally obeyed team rules by kicking 3 goals from 9 attempts in the reserves today. Well done Dawesy.

This is STUPID we smashed our bogey side are 3-1 after a tough opening month, but yet some people can still find something to bitch about.
If we kicked straight this season we should be 4-0

So did Dawes kick straight
No. No other way to put it.

Three of his shots were deep in the pockets with the breeze against him, but he also missed one on a slight angle. Then again, he kicked a few too.
