Player Profile:

At just 22 James Jordon can call himself a premiership player after appearing in the 2021 Grand Final for Melbourne as the medical substitute, the same year he made his debut for the Dees. The midfielder was initially taken as pick 33 in the 2018 draft and joined the Sydney Swans on the opening day of the 2023 AFL Free Agency Period. He played just 18 games in 2023 with the hopes to improve and grow in the red and white.

The replacement for Stephens, the fact we get him for free (trade-wise, rather than salary) means we get a pick and Jordon for Stephens which is a great reuslt.

Jordon wore 23 at the Demons. Had been thinking they will leave Buddy's 23 vacant next season or two, similar to Goodes and Joey. Might have to pick himself a new number.

I thought he was a bit more inside than Stephens?
Beatson thought Stephens when he drafted was more inside than he turned out for us. Jordon could be in the same boat

Beatson said the Swans were attracted to Stephens for his ability to play both inside and outside as a midfielder.

“We’re really pleased to get him, it goes without saying. We’ve watched Dylan for a couple of years,” he said.
