Exactly what we should do.

If we did it maybe he wouldn't have needed to go to the twos.

He's a wing/HBF at AFL level.

He gets lost and feels pressure on the wing.

Let him hunt the ball and use his evasive skills on the inside.

Yeah i'd like to see him spend another 1-2 weeks in the vfl as a midfielder first. Not straight back in for mine

I agree needs another week or 2 in the VFL.

We should all know by now that simply one reasonable game in the 2's doesn't help players at our club, generally their back to where they were within a couple of weeks. Besides 20 touches @ 70% in the VFL is hardly bashing the door down.

Playing him inside is useless unless we are gonna line him up there in the seniors.

Which I think that we should do.
As funny as it sounds, watching the highlights of a young Judd last night does actually look like everything Atts can do and has done. The only problem is even at his best, Atts used to do it once or twice a game, and even less so this season, while Judd has done his trademark pickup at speed, and running away from the stoppage 15 times a game.

Watching him today only confirms the immediate need for Atley to develop a left foot and work on his opposite.

It's one of the key reasons he won't take his game to another level.

He develops tunnel vision, with this burst mentality and particularly when he runs to his left, it limits his ability to use the ball down the field and narrows his options. It's particularly important in traffic, and another key reason why he'll struggle to play any sort of inside role like a Judd when his inside game, still needs further development.

5. In his second game for the Roosters, Shaun Atley was a little quieter than his first, but still applied plenty of pressure around the ball, registering eight clearances and seven tackles.

“His stoppage work in close was really pleasing and he’ll probably do a little more work inside,” Brown said.

“He was able to take the game on and he looked sharp while he was doing that.”

Has stagnated. Just doesnt impact for long enough or often or not. Doesnt matter what level it is he always dishes up the same type of performance.
He is a confidence player and a fragile one. Does not bode well long term. Hope Im wrong.

Didn't think he had it 23 times. He did some great things.

How many times has he had 23 in his career?
Not many, showed good toughness in close.

He was reasonable today; a good sign if he can use this as a foundation from which to build.

It's the first time this year I can recall seeing him play without looking like he has the world on his shoulders. Good start back. Should get better.
