is a specimen bigger than a unit? Interesting
I confess that (1) I had to think for a while to come up with a word that indicated “bigger than a unit” and (2) I went with specimen but was never really happy with it.

Sometimes you just gotta hit that post button and let the chips fall where they may….

cant help but feel we've missed a trick by shifting him back.

Had 12 goals from 6 games as a first year KPP / ruck, moving back he was ok but he was showing some really good signs coming out of the square

With all the KPDs going down, a KPD was a clear need. Still is really given Hayes is coming off an ACL so Gerryn is basically first in line depth (alongside Blakiston) for McKay / Reid / Ridley as a tall defender.

Can a VFL and training watcher explain to me why we shifted him back when we so desperately need a Forward/Ruck?

Was he simply rubbish there?

What are the chances he gets delisted or is he a slow burn.

Last season at the start of the season we had Draper as the AFL Forward Ruck and Wright as the VFL forward ruck.

We also had CDT playing with the VFL team. Combine that with injuries in defence and trying to fit Viggo and Goldy in the same side (Bryan no1 AFL ruck) and there wasn’t space in the side for him to play ruck/forward. We also really needed a backup KPD and he did well in that spot. So it made sense to just keep developing him there and not stall his development by shuffling him through multiple positions.

He was a bit patchy and last year we needed defenders. He has nice skills and is a smooth mover, but he is not quick. His agility is average and the endurance has been a work in progress. His ruck work is nothing special. I think he will be delisted.
