But in all seriousness, you are right....He single-handedly carried the Bad News Bears on his shoulders for almost the entirety of it's first decade in existence.
And yes, he was the one genuine star that held that rabble together for years. Add that to his contribution to bac-to-back flags and you have a worthy member you'd think.
 
Rog the dodge is Hall of Fame for all of us that followed the game and remembers the notorious one in early to mid 80's.

Yes, Kel Moore remembers it well....As does his left agate.

Don Scott certainly gave Rodgey an element of notoriety that took quite a spell to wear off.....If anything, it actually made him, in seeking to prove his critics wrong as a result.

The Bombers, with Madden & Merrett in tandem, were pretty well unstoppable there for a good while.....He actually grew as a player & leader once he went off to the Bears.

And yes, he was the one genuine star that held that rabble together for years. Add that to his contribution to bac-to-back flags and you have a worthy member you'd think.

Yep.....He certainly is deserving of some kind of recognition & reward for the job he did, in carrying that rabble for 9 of it's 10 torturous seasons.
