Our midfield has been average at best for the last decade. We have KPPs so what we need is midfielders. Our midfield is the worst in the game and we will be destined for mediocrity until we improve this area.

The worst midfield in the game?

C'mon mate, it mightn't be as flashy as West Coast's or St. Kilda's, but they have a go, and the majority of our midfielders are still on their P's.

Young and inexperienced, sure, but worst in the game is probably a bit harsh.

We have 3 young midfielders (Stanton, Dyson, Lovett and Monfries) who i am very confident of making it (perhaps Stanton already has).

We have a few others such as Slattery, Nash, Winderlich and Watson who i think have the potential to make it.

Our young midfield stocks are pretty good. JJ and MJ should be quality again next season, Hird will still spend some time in the midfield while Pev adds a lot of hardness though lacks a lot of polish. Cole could be a useful addition. We also have a number of other senior option such as Solomon, Rioli, McPhee, McVeigh and Ramanauskas for next season who can add a lot to a midfield rotation.

We're also likely to pick up Camporeale who as much as a lot of our fans hate him should provide at least 1 quality season in the midfield while our younger blokes take another step forward.

We also have Hille in the ruck who looks likely to have a career defining season in 2006.

Our midfield is definately improving, so i don't think we have the urgent need to draft midfielders as we might have had last season. Should still draft at least two though imo.

we want a gun midfielder with our first pick if available. there will be no james hird next year and IMO we are still a pack breaker short ala chriss judd, but isnt everyone, richard douglas, travis varcoe (if injury is ok, chris judd had doubts on his shoulders) or andrew swallow sound like they have good qualities in terms of speed. but mitchell clark sound like a good KPP. If we are going to get campo in PSD then we might go after clark. Im sure dodoro and sheeds will make the correct decision this time unlike when we got bolton, eeeeeeeee the shivers

Big kid and a nice grab but wouldn't have though he'd be in the top 5 KPP in the draft i didnt think he was even likely to be drafted at all.

stanton, dyson, winderlich, lovett were drafted to fix this problem....maybe not so much lovett as he was rookied probably to be a goal sneak....but he could be a very capable midfielder. look at KPP - most likely backmen (have to ask scotty if he prefers playing CHF or CHB-> prob CHF...he loves a goal!)

Stanton and Gussie will be guns but right now, apart from Collingwood, our midfield is the worst in the game. Picks 7 and 19 are opportunities to fix this down the track.
