Interesting. In the presser, an obviously cranky Scott commented that Wright was being triple-teamed at times I thought? Implied to me that Weideman wasn't playing his role too well... or maybe Port dismissed Weideman entirely.

If Wright is being triple teamed then other players are free, our midfielders and half backs need to recognise that when going inside 50.

It’s been an issue for a long time, without Wright there they were forced to look for other targets. Weideman bricking it a few times in marking contests and not being a scoring threat means defenders don’t worry as much about working off him either.

Wright was being triple teamed by Aliir holding onto his arm and the two maggot scumpires closest to the contest who seen what everyone else at the ground did but didn't blow the free because they are cheating scum.

This was my feeling too. Seemed like he always had Allir and at least one other scragging him at every contest and got nothing from the umpires. Was pretty surprised at all the shit he was copping post game though so thought maybe I was imagining things.

A lot of the shit he copped seemed to be more about people who dont play favourites excusing Weideman.

It was pretty obvious at the ground how much he was getting held. Still needs to find a away to have an impact though

Disclaimer -I wasn't able to watch last night's game. However virtually every poster has commented on how badly he was infringed against without receiving any umpire protection. Maybe the big gorillas can fight fire with fire when confronted by 90s Silvagni tactics with no 2020s style umpiring, but 2MP is just not that player. Also, I think his 5 goal haul in his first game disguised the effect of missing 12 weeks of competitive footy. I think we ought to cut the guy a bit of slack in all the circumstances.

Oh goodness me. I only saw a bit of the game, but noticed almost no one take a mark that wasn't a chest mark. He has missed half the season etc. So many emotional nobs in here!

Time for Scott to come out and remind the umpires 2MP is being held on many occasions.

They seem to respond to that!

Pearce and Allir got away with alot of grabbing/pushing against poighter the last 2 weeks but he has to learn to still make an impact on the game. He had a bit of the Joe's about him, appealing for frees instead of trying to stop an intercept mark/bring the ball to ground.

Was re watching the game and I know weideman is down on confidence but he at least took some good strong marks on the wing/50m arc and brought the ball to ground more for our smalls, so I dont think he deserves as much criticism for last week compared to peter.

I through Wright was good last week. Sometimes I think I was watching a different game to some of the posters here.

He was getting mugged and triple teamed in the pocket with kicks that weren’t to his advantage.

When the game was dry (not raining) the HFs kicking into the forward line were just throwing it on the boot in hope, it was rubbish kicking.

There were gaps everywhere for SFs and Medium forwards because of 2MPs gravity. Players just missed kicks (both to those players and at the sticks)

He's even soft in his rehab trying to do a backward roll down a foam mat.

He needs to harden up and have a presence and actually COMPETE with good defenders. They make him look silly and weak at times...

I still say that he is just a guy that is not physically strong . It happens . Not everyone can just go to the gym and pump the weights and become a super beast. There is a limit to how strong you can get and I think 2MP is one of those blokes who has a limit.

I was commenting that this is what professionalism in rehab looks like. His work in rehab meant he was up to a month ahead of schedule.

He's always had a top heavy, weak core look about him.

As in, I'm confident he would lift/push a lot of weight, but the slightest nudge seems to knock him off balance. Let alone being Aliir'd.
