How in hell do Port have such short odds? Port always have longer odds than they should have...its tradition! Must be some mugs with money in Victoria taking a punt, maybe.

Carlton/Odds/Betting?

This seems like a good thread to remind everybody that Carlton have been caught throwing matches before.

Take those odds with a grain of salt! :D

Not at all starbaby.

You just admitted that Crows "normal" was well below their best ... which of course is exactly the same as saying their best, or theeir capability if you like, is way better than their normal.
Oh don't make me laugh Mark, "starbaby"??? Is that what you're tactic? 12yr old stuff? Oh well, worth a laugh isn't it ok.crow, so well done bud.

I like the way you put that, "admitted" HAHAHA. I took the time to EXPLAIN (to your limited intellect) what I'd said earlier, nothing more. So in my mind, either you're really stupid or you're taking the piss and trolling. Either way you're another Dan, you pick the eyes and ignore the body of my points, just to suit yourself.

Lets see where the crows are at the end of the year shall we?

I'm suprememly confident they'll be below us, by more than 1-2 spots too.

Now, if Crows can gain a little experience, stability, etc ... then more often they should be able to produce at theeeir best. Just as last year wore on, they hit their best more often.
Don't they do that every year though? Get better as the year goes on...

So that means that all things being equal, Crows "normal" standard should lift a little next year, as they more often hit their best form.
Why will they more often hit their best form? In every other Crows season I can remember they've improved in the second half....yet it rarely seems to indicate an improvement for the next season. Why would this be any different?

Unequivocally yes in 97 & 98. Pretty much evident in 01. Not at aall in 99 and 00 ... in fact they probably got worse toward the end.

See above about the "every year" bit. But why expect Crows to be able to hit their sometimes evident good form from last year a little more often this year?

Crows have solid enough players down to about #15 or so. From #16 through #22 are generally the ones with very very few games AFL experience. I'm hoping that the wild inconsistency seen through this year is attributal to that inexperience, and that the reason that Crows improved as the year wore on is that some of those players settled a little.

I think that is at least part of it ... Hewiit doing OK at CHB, Stenglein gaining in confidence, Shirley & Gallagher doing OK. Stevens taking on a new role at CHF, Ricciuto returning to full fitness and a change in gameplan also helped.

All those factors that contributed to the Crows improvement should be in place this year as well, hopefully for the whole of the year.

Its not a definite, but IMO is a likely outcome for Crows.

Essendon should be premiership favourites.

The Bombers present the best value at $3.50. Think about it. A The best team in the comp, virtually guaranteed the flag if we have a decent run with injury is paying 350%!!

Get on the Bombers. You're wasting your money with these other teams. We may not be 100% certainties, but at $3.50 we are WAY over the odds.

people said that last year....
