Thanks

Copeland Voting Criteria
Each player is allocated one vote for each game he is selected in. Then... up to 20 votes per game can then be allocated to the best players as judged by the match committee.

Jesus that's a crap criteria. Votes for turning up FFS. What are we a knitting circle?

There is nothing wrong with the criteria. You get awarded for playing a match, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT. And there is nothing wrong with votes awarded.

Firstly a vote for turning up is like an encouragement award for the battlers at school. We are supposed to be an organisation of excellence. Secondly, Buckley can get 40 touches and kick 5 goals while Kinnear plays 10 minutes and makes 3 errors and gets 2 votes less than Buckley. Next week Buckley "only" gets 25 possessions and "only" kicks 1 goal because 3 players rotate a tag on him while Kinnear plays the same and they both get 1 vote.

In 2002 Buckley finished NINTH!

Get over it, You obviously are a football fan with some knowledge, but you whinge when Buckley comes 9th in the 2002 Best and Fairest. 2002 was a season where Collingwood Played as a TEAM. Buckley didn't get All Australian for that Reason. It was annoying that no-one got those honours, but it actually was better because we made the Grand Final and it showed that Collingwood was not a "ONE-MAN TEAM". I agree that Buckley is the Best Footballer in the League BUT don't use a criteria that awards you for playing the no.1 sport for the no.1 team because there is 22 players who go out there to play for the team that you go watch each week. The criteria is sensible. Would you like to see somebody like Lokan for example play 25 games in 2003 and play at a rate of 7-8 disposals a game. He wouldn't have got a vote for being in the best but he played in 25 out of 25 games for a team that came Runners-Up.

Just because there are some hacks "Ben Kinnear" who play for Collingwood and gets 1 vote per game for turning up, it is a sign of encouragement.

You don't even play football for individual honours anyway. You play as a team and don't worry about a Best and Fairest or even a Brownlow for that matter.

Get over it.

Oh Yeah...

In 2002 the criteria was much different!!!!
The four members of the coaching panel award a total of 10 votes per match, with the maximum for any one player being four.

1. Paul Licuria (41)
2. Scott Burns (37)
3. James Clement (36)
4. Tarkyn Lockyer, Shane Wakelin (33)
6. Ben Johnson, Simon Prestigiacomo, Anthony Rocca (32)
9. Nathan Buckley (31)
10. Jason Cloke, Steven McKee (30)

See how tight it was, a matter of one Best on Ground and he would have been 4th maybe 3rd.

He was good last year kicked quite a few off the flank (Or was that the year before???)
