Good. I might be able to make it down to the cattery this year, the last game I saw was maybe 3 seasons ago when the doggies came from 4 goals down at 3QR time! Sunday's are too bloody difficult to get down there and back up to Melbourne for a Sunday night flight.

Thats a good start to the season. Should help in selling memberships.

Whilst it's great for the locals to have games still being played at Skilled, I think everyone is missing the fact that IF the club manages to get over 30,000 members again next year, where the hell do you put them all if the game's being played at Skilled!?

The new stand looks great but IMO should've been another tier higher at least to cater for increased numbers in members and the 'general public'. Seeing as the club has decided to replace the wooden seats in the Hickey Stand with bucket seats, I don't think they have any plans to pull the stand down and replace it with a more modern and larger stand which is disappointing.

The club is saying it wants to fix up it's 'home' ground for it's new era of talent, however, they do not have the facilites in terms of seating, etc. to match the growing membership which surely is a major concern. Having a stadium that can only fit (correct me if I'm wrong) 25,000 is pathetic in the modern era.

As far as I'm concerned, the club is based in a 'town', therefore has a town mentality in terms of facilities.

For you die hard Geelong supporters, I do hope for your sake the club wakes up to itself and invests any extra cash into building bigger stands in the short term.

even though i do not agree 100% with what your saying there, i do however know what u mean with the seating...im only young but have been a member for 4 years and i had a great amount of difficulty even getting a seat at all down there this year, i dont mind going in the standing section, but not when i take people like my 83 year old nana, a lifelong cats supporter.. who couldnt possibly stand up that long if she tried. I could only make it to four games at skilled this year because every other time i could not only get a ticket for myself(a seated ticked) but i couldnt for the rest of my family or friends who wanted to go also....i found it extremely frustrating bolting through the gates at 12.00 when the gates opened just to get a seat in the general admission....its fantastic we have hit an all time high with the number of memberships, but if i have as much problem as i did this year at skilled then i do know if i would bother getting a membership, except for the fact i like having one for the melbourne games but still.....spose ill just have to get a reserved seat for the whole year down there, looks like the only option...but then i still cant bring guests with me can i?!?

Looks ok, means we play 6 home away games in a row at skilled.
It sure does... pretty unique. Not sure many clubs could say they've played six matches in a row at their home ground.

It's only been a year since Sydney came to Geelong Jubs, but it's a good thing they remembered to schedule us at Sydney too.

About the ground not being big enuff.. totally get what you are saying. I sit in Bay 19 (have been on the 50 meter line there for about 6 years now).. but EVERY week we go, there are empty seats around us. Sometimes there are a heap of em empty!! So what?.. people are buying em, n not turning up???

Are those first three games at skilled because of the commonwealth games??

Would've personally liked to have seen one of the first three games in melbs but besides that it looks like a good drawn with the home games spread out nicely throughout the season.

Doesn't seem too bad a fixture for us. First game at Telstra Stadium should be interesting. Don't know why we did to get knocked back on our Friday night coverage - at least one is a home match though I guess...

Should get membership off to a flying start which would be good...

Bit of a shame for those that follow local footy in Geelong with there being so many home games on a Saturday.
Was great when you had local game on Saturday and then Cats on Sunday.
Oh well cant please everyone.

the only plus side is you can have a few more beers at the game on a Saturday and then back it up again during Saturday night after a big win.

Sunday games mean going a bit lighter on the grog......well for me anyway......

Interesting to see both your games against us are at TD.
