I am really looking forward to it, should be great. So many terrific events, lets just hope we get to see some good action on TV.

I'm looking forward to it as well, I don't know about you guys, but I enjoy the Winter Olympics just as much as the Summer Olympics, The bobsled, Luge, Long Track & Short Track Skating are my favourite events, and i'm so jealous of my cousin, who's over in Turin now and who's going to be there for the duration of the games.

I particularly enjoy the Winter Olympics because a lot of the sports are quite unheralded in Australia (due to exposure). Hardly know anything about any of the sports, but they are always exhilarating and admirable for the amount of skill required to execute.

And Ben, I take it you would really like to be there.

nah the tickets were easy to get, and reasonably priced too.
we got all the events we applied for.
the hardest bit was booking accomodation during the games. i think i emailed every hotel in Turin, they were all booked out or not taking bookings (because of ticket/accomodation packages being sold at ridiculous prices), but we eventually managed to get a hotel at an okay rate.

That's good, would of thought they would of been through the roof for ticket prices.

Good to hear you were able to get some decent accomodation, but some of those package deals you are talking about are always over priced exactly the same thing happens here.

I think anyone would like to be there, but seeing both the Winter Olympics and the Commonwealth Games would be pretty cool me thinks.

Yeah, we have a chance with a few of our aerial skiers.

Our snowboarders and in particular, Torah Bright should have a decent chance of picking up a medal or two.

Love the Winter Olympics - Steven Bradbury's gold ranked as my all-time favourite sporting moment until last year. Hopefully our speed skaters will just drop to the back again and take home more gold.

Seriously, sounds like Dale Begg-Smith is our best medal chance in one of the most confusing events in sport, the moguls. Torah Bright is a good chance too (and a chance to take home some serious sponsorship money if she wins a medal, although she already has some good deals already).

My Winter Olympic favourite would have to be bobsleigh/luge/skeleton. Hopefully Seven won't screw us over and give us some decent coverage.

They might fit in a minute or two between the hours & hours of Figure Skating & Ice Dancing.

If Nagano & Salt Lake City are anything to go by then Seven's coverage will be atrocious.

Figure skating - the equivalent of Gymnastics in the summer Games (ie. mind-numbingly dull and yet horribly over-exposed).

I still remember when Bradbury won the gold - I was listening to ABC Radio when they announced it, turned it on Seven and found replays of the previous night's coverage.

Will be even poorer if Roy and H.G. aren't involved either.
