OK u guys are the the owners of Carlton. U can make any draft picks or trades or elevations (realistic of course)

B - Carazzo Hartlett Whitnall
CHB- Thornton Hansen Simpson
C - Russell Walker Scotland
CHF - Blackwell Kennedy Houli
F - Betts Fevola Waite
R - Renouf Murphy Stevens

interchange - Batson, Wiggins, Jackson, Edwards

Impressive? could it take us to the finals?

Note - not selected includes Fisher, Bower, Bryan, French, Bentick
so there is plenty of depth

Something to look forward to.

replace Renouf with John Meeson/ or add Graham Polak to the Half Back line.

Ok two questions:

1. how would we get Meeson, by trading a pick. I wouldn't be against it.

2. Polak? u think. Im not too high on this kid.

1. Meeson wants to return home, hence, not re-signing with AFC. looms to be a PSD bargain, if we can get into his ear.

2. I think he's pretty high :D. Honestly though, i'd only take him if he was the best available, if Meeson was gone.

I think John Meeson would be just what the Dr. ordered for Carlton.

a #8 in the 2004 draft, RUCKMAN. cmon people ... we need this guy more than anything.

And to be able to get him for free would be the sweetest plum. I know for a fact Essendon wont pick him up.

if we got him in the PSD that would be sweet.

That would mean we wouldn't have to worry bout a ruckman in the draft.

Instead pick up a KPP with pick 2 and then stock up on midfielders with picks 18,20,36,52,68

hmmm dont know about not worrying about picking up a ruckman, id be happy with picking up Luenenberger or Ranouf aswell in the draft, as there is no guarantee on Essendon overlooking him (they are bastards afterall).

But after we pick up Hansen, i think we should take as many midfielders as possible - however, that does go against my theory of taking "the best possible".

The reason why i talk up Andrejs Everitt is because he turned 17 in March, and is already 193/195 cm. His brother no doubt is 200+ ... perhaps we can turn Andrejs into a Ruckman down the line?.

So im all for midfielders, unless a decent KPP is severly overlooked.

I hope this isn't Bachar Houli? ;)

What have Batson, Edwards and Jackson done to deserve a game ahead of Bower, AB, French and Fisher?

Bryan will get the chop.

B: Carrazzo Hansen Simpson
HB: Thornton Whitnall Walker
C: Houlihan Bentick Scotland
HF: Waite Kennedy Fisher
F: Betts Fevola Wiggins :)
R: French Stevens Murphy

I/C from: Russell Hartlett (swingman ;) ) Lappin Blackwell Mclaren Saddington (another year? ) Bower Bannister(maybe another year as a depth player :( ) McGrath Schmidt (here's hoping) O'Brien(I can dream can't I?) Zac Millar/Renouf?

OK. Ill start by saying it is Bachar Houli. something wrong with him that i don't no about?

next Edwards, Jackson, Batson have been solid in either 2's or 2's reserves so maybe they could play. Not so much Batson, but i think we need to develop ruckmen.the other 2 are definite chances. French i think turns 31 next year, which means we may need to think elsewhere (someone suggested Meeson and i agree with that).

I wanted Bower in the team but couldn't fit him, with Hartlett, Hansen, Thornton and Whitnall. With Fisher, I don't believe all 4 bigs can play in the forward line. Makes us too slow. Bentick was a close one, but i just left him out.

Bannistar and Saddington will be regular reserves next year, maybe the odd game.

And with your theories of drafting Schmidt, O'brien, Renouf and Millar, certainly can't complain would like them on our list.

I also agree wiggins should prob start.

The verdict is kinda out for Houli. Some say he could go 10-15 and is a big talent. Others say low 2nd round and is average

You didn't have Houlihan in the team so I assumed he was Houli.

I'm hoping we don't draft a shortish midfielder with reportedly so so pace and a history of stress fractures, we need pace, a ruckman or even another KPP if we have three top 20 picks this year.

They wouldn't be selected ahead of Fisher, Bentick and Bower in a month of Sundays given their positions on the list and they haven't even played AFL yet!

A top 20 pick deserves to be rated higher than Edwards and your bench was crap.

CHILL!

Ok, i can accept that my bench isn't that great. I was just throwing a few young names out there.

Thats y its a forum to discuss things. Plus i rate Jackson very highly. I reckon he will play a lot next season. Was considered by some top 10 last year after the carnival. Ive seen him and he is good.

Batson may not be good but a risk thats needed to get a good big name. If i could, id change it to Meeson.

Wiggins can be a good impact player for us.

Edwards could easily be changed for AB.

ok fair enough. I can accept ur thoughts. My list did look a little young

don't know enough about the kids in this draft other than the obvious names so have picked types of players rather than induvidulals
assuming kouta retires and players are injury free and play to their potential.
have not taken into account match ups and trying to be as realistic as possible

FWIW

b: bower - hartlett - thornton

hb: walker - whitnall - scotland

c: russell - murphy - simpson

hf: lappin - kennedy - waite

f: betts - fevola - fisher

ruck: mclaren - stevens - pick 2 (onballer)

int: blackwell - houlihan - psd 2 (experienced ruckmen) - pick 18 (onballer)

emer: carazzo - bentick - flint - pick 20 (key position)

have missed some guys like wiggins, french but the sign of a good side is its depth.

So has everyone given up on Jesse Smith. Surely he could get a game.

Exactly, like to see him promoted, and as for having Thornton in the side, you have to be joking, imo the guy is a dud.Would rather Bower in than Thornton.
