This will be interesting. At this stage I’d say J Brown and Fev easily. Watching J Brown last night, just re-confirmed his status as the best CHF in the AFL by an absolute mile. Brown is hard to combat because of his size and incredible strength. He doesn’t have much of a leap, but has good height, vice-like hands, and uses his strength very well. KP defenders that play body-on-body will invariably fail. Watching Setanta’s dual with Brown was fascinating. Setanta effected a heap of spectacular spoils by using his pace, height, and massive leap. Very few, if any, KP defenders have these athletic attributes though. He did however struggle when he played body-on-body against Brown. Brown has surprising speed, and amazing endurance, and just wears his opponent down. A sensational player. Fev is also very hard to combat. Fev’s main weapon is his unbelievable burst speed, combined with enormous power and brilliant marking ability. His ground level skills are just extreme, and we all know how good a kick he is. Most teams assign 2-3 players to the Fev matchup. One is assigned to spoil from behind, and one other player tries to go with him on the lead, or block his lead. The Hawks often assigned a 3rd opponent to provide a sweeping, support role. Despite this attention, Fev usually wins. The other KP forwards have been very good in the past, but are easier to combat nowdays. :)

I think it will go back to being Lloyd. For all of his flaws, throughout his career, it's always been hard to stop him from doing the one thing he does well: Kicking goals.

I agree VV, If Lloyd doesn't anything like he did at the start of last year he will be a star.
Fev has showed just as much as he did last year kicking many goals so It will be between those 2

and diving for free kicks

and Fevola doesn't i take it?

There will be many frustrated supporters (and defenders) this year i tell you. ALL players will be trying their luck. Staging will become common place ... those who do it best will get the reward.

Mate, don't blame Lloyd (cos he seems to be everyones favourite whipping boy) or even Fevola ... the blame must firmly be put on the highly incompetent shoulders of Adrian Anderson and his Laws of the Game committee.

I saw Croad take a screamer yesterday ... it was fantastic! It was taken of him for hands in the back. Its going to ruin the game!!

:thumbsu:

Fully agree (although Fev didn't need to dive to win a Coleman hehe ;)).

Every forward is going to milk this new rule for what it's worth. Saying that only two players are capable of this (Lloyd and Fev) is the height of ignorance. It may be beneficial for our Fev, but it's going to cost us goals too from the other end (O'hAlpin and Thornton got pinged so many times so far it's just not funny). Other defenders will feel the heat - and in the heat of the moment, will revert back to gut instinct and use their hands. Then get pinged.

I sense a lot of defenders will take a while to get used to it. Even then, they will still be "infringing".

Brown looked super impressive last night. If he plays 22 games, could easily win a brownlow and kick 70 plus Goals from CHF.
Fev and Lloydy could kick plenty in 07.
I also wouldn't right off Hall. He will be smarting from some of the rediculous criticism he received after last years GF. Was a load of crap that he cost Sydney the flag.
Voted Brown. Second best player in the comp behind Sir Juddery!

Voted for Fev but I think Brown's in for a big year as well. Defenders are going to have a hell of a time getting good position on him without using their hands.

Pavlich will be the most dominate KPF on that list. He is probably the most complete KPF in the comp, speed, endurance, strength, ground level abilty and a strong grab. JB has a greater ability to take a game apart but i doubt whether his body will hold out for the full season.

Cannot believe Saint Nick is not on that list. Him and Barry Hall are probably and equal third!

Tarrant IMO. Fremantle will play him closer to goal, predominately at full-forward, and he will kick 60-70 goals. I can see it unfolding right before my eyes, but I'm not too concerned that Collingwood traded him, even though he could have another 5 years (left in him) tops. Fremantle supporters, he could be the difference between hosting a preliminary final and not this year, believe me.

Lloyd>>>Fev. I find it unbelieveable how quickly bigfooty posters are to switch opinions. This time last year no1 would've said Fev and remember Lloyd hasn't had a non-interrupted season sice 2001. In 3 weeks time what's the bet everyone will say it's lloyd.

This time last year Fev had come off his worst season since 2003.

Brown should be the most dominating key position forward but only if he avoids injuries and suspension. At this stage, Fev is in better form than everybody else. He showed last night that he didn't need to be near his best though to kick four goals.

You obviously didnt watch Matty Pavlich play on friday night against the best defence in the AFL...

Dead right, and now he has that pressure of always kicking the goals for Freo lifted, he will only get better. Took the game apart the other night and only kick 1 goal.

Will benefit from playing with a quality CHF...60+ goals not out of the question...

I've seen a lot of Pav play. He is not even close to Brown. Brown is a lot bigger, and a true power forward. You are just kidding yourself if you think Pav is in the same class. :)
