I've been thinking about this for awhile after hearing it relentlessly from the media and personally I don't think we are that underdone at all.

The most important area for any team is the spine
Spine
Scarlett (missed 2 games)
Taylor (missed 2 games)
Ling\Bartel
Mooney
Tom-o-Hawk

The games our backs have missed serves more as a freshen up than anything

Now the most important area for the cats is the midfield
Midfield
Ablett (3 game)
Bartel
Selwood
Corey
Ling (1 game)
Chapman (4games?)

I personally classify 4 or more games in a row as loss of fitness and or form.....so the midfield is fine

Now for arguably our worst area the forward line.....the structure in Mooney and Tom-o-Hawk is fine but the flanks\pockets have been a little in and out in S Johnson and form of Stokes\Burns. But remember we are number 2 for points score in 2009 (ahead of St)

So that leaves us with the following underdone players Kelly Otto Harley and S Johnson

Johnsons - last 3 games have been important and very planned by the coaching staff (was never going to play tonight)
Harley - same as above......both will be right to go in round 22 with enough base to perform close to their best
Otto - I’m really not sure where I stand with him......not sure we should play him at all
Kelly - needs to play the full game next week to even get a look in

Personally I think the base of the team is fine and ready to show its best. Out of tonight’s game I’m hoping for a 20ish point win with the following having solid games Stokes, Gamble, Blake and Wojo along with the usual suspects.

Thoughts?

Er

Um

Ahh

I'd say overdone, too much training?

Not really a valid point you're making in my opinion, sorry champ.

The point is we are getting ritten off by many in the media because of injuries and poor form.

these injuries have been to the flanks not the spine and therefore structure of the team

Pay less attention to the media and you won't have to worry about making a point.

It's kind of like making a point about goldilocks burning her mouth eating hot porridge and then not being able to sleep. The story isn't true, the media are just story tellers too.

and all it will take is for either Scarlett or Taylor to overextend and PING there goes the groin again.

and it also only takes a bus crash on the way to the bulldogs game to lose all our guns and fringe players. wed need a total rebuild! from nothing! damn it... time to find a new team...

Not great timing with the compromised drafts and all.

Again, you're not really basing your hypothetical on reality. A bus crash is only going to kill a % of the list. However I would think that they make their own way to Melbourne games so your point is even more null.

no, my point is even more solid. what if they build a nuclear reactor, inside the cats rooms tonight, which meltsdown, killing only our team? think of that? the bus crash could be replaced by anything. an explosive sunspot, focused entirely on the cats huddle at 3/4 time? a session on the crack gone horribly wrong, after celebrating byrnes 17th goal before halftime? the odds are stacked horribly against this team. they will be lucky to be able to field a full team come QF time. did that simpsons episode where burns got in the softball ringers teach you nothing?!? the ignorance...

Stop worrying about media speculation.

The Cats will have many players back come finals time, and will prove the other teams to be a bunch of pretenders.

Well Chapman's just pinged his hamstring again so maybe just base your opinions on the real world instead of some shitty US television show

Just want to say Leigh Matthews is a w***er. I'm sure we can agree with that. Ablett hater no doubt.
