..Preferably inside a brown paper bag with a big green dollar sign on the front.

A cardboard box would also suffice.

Re: Media Thread

I think Stanley has a slightly greater chance of making it than McGrath...but I sure hope you're right!

McEvoy, McGrath and Stanley...could be a decent rucking trio for the next 12 years.
What makes you say that?

Re: Media Thread

Well McGrath is a convert from Sydney. A rookie who is still learning the game.

Stanley has been playing the game his whole life...

Pretty much that alone makes me believe Stanley will make it ahead of McGrath. Not saying McGrath won't make it, just reckon Stanley has a better chance of being in our starting 22 every week.

Based on your theory Sydney's new ruck is doomed.

You could equally say that McGrath was good enough to get selected for StKilda when he has hardly played football in his life. How good will he be once he gets a couple of years experience.

Re: Media Thread

Isn't he like a project ruck? Like we picked him up because he was 8 foot? Not much footballing ability but we just hoped it would come to him?

I'd rather a guy 6cm's shorter that knows how to play the game...

He's definitely a project ruck, 208cm and only 85 kg.

He's a fairly recent convert, so it's a bit early to call. He played 10 games in his only season, and dominated the ruck (at his height, what a surprise). Apparently he's got an okay kick, and with a background including NSW Institute of Sport basketball program and soccer goalkeeper, you'd think he's got a decent set of hands.

Re: Media Thread

Nice way to finish, Huns. Sheesh! Ross dumped you Fiora because you refused to play at the best of your ability, because you refused to believe it. Not rocket science. Not poetry. Simple.

Totally confused young man. I really hope that he LEARNS from this - the mistakes he's made in footy are psychological/emotional, and they're not the same as a bad-knee or tightening hammies. They don't necessarily have to affect you in the future, personally or professionally. His lack of confidence and refusal to build a support network could affect the rest of his life.

Really hope for him.

 Wtf is in the water down there?
Thats 2 players in the past week that've said shower times the best...

Re: Media Thread

Comes across as lazy and soft mentally in that article to me. Could have been a great footballer (no Pav of course though) but couldn't/wouldn't get his head straight. Imagine having guys like Harves, Roo and Lenny around and not asking them for help getting through rough patches of form, or with the workload or weight of expectations etc. There's only one reason he isn't on an AFL list in 2009 and that's himself.

Oh btw if you don't get it, Eric Bana's character plays an Aussie who's Saints crazy, noticable by the Saints merch everywhere. 2:29 iirc.

Eric Bana is an Aussie who is Saints crazy !

I liked the early Adam Sandler - his latest movies have been nowhere near his SNL work - but I guess I will go watch this one now !
