Bored senseless, time for some player discussion for next player.
Here's how it works, I'll name a player, next poster writes their thoughts about the players prospects this year in Supercoach and then writes the name of another player.

I'll start it off with....... Scott Lucas.

Hey Para. Creative idea. Bored out of my mind so happy to chime in first.

Hmmmm...Lucas....Cheap with a big risk factor as he is getting on and more prone to injury. Very poor year by his standards. Delivery to the bombers fwds was bollocks and when they finally got it together Lloyd took it all. I'm worried about the Bombers backline which I still rate as very poor. Puts extra pressure on the mids and impacts the drive fwd.:thumbsd:

What I like:
the fact he is on one year contract renewals so he has to consistently pull his finger out.

Huge scoring potential. Great contested mark and can kick a bag.:thumbsu:

Will depend on Bombers recruiting. Another few bigs and Gumbleton coming in will help.

@ est $337,405, down almost $200K from 2007(thx Walesy) Had a look and there is only average talent and a bunch of 2nd years (ewww!!) in that price range.

If he strings 2-3 decent games together he will jump back above $500K and would be a good trade for a slightly out of form gun.

Decision: (visualise the coin with yes and no slowly spinning in the air to land, bounces a few times and after teetering precariously on its edge lands on....yes. It is a risk worth taking at those $ for a number 6 or 7 fwd. Yazz and plastic population all say "the only way is up....baby"

Next: Jed Adcock:confused:

Just to keep things moving *glares at JM*, don't know too much about Jed, his average was affected by two very low scores of 4 and 6 this year, otherwise he would have averages mid eighties I guess. Still a big drop off from the year before. Dalziell may be stealing his points too next season? Need more input from Brisbane fans I guess...maybe he had a positional/role change this year.

I'll move on, feel free to add more Adcock info is anyone has watched more Brissie games than me!

If he stays in the midfield...shouldn't average over 95. If he moves to the backline like 07..then 100+ isn't out of the question

Crap sorry. :o

I have an interesting one. Matthew Egan. :thumbsu:

Should be bench for most teams. Starting at rookie price pretty much, plus a guaranteed spot if he stays injury free. Which outweighs the decreased scoring potential. Will be the Nathan Brown of last year. Or if he can get scoring up..then maybe the Taylor. An 80 average would be good

Umm... Danyle Pearce

The thing with Egan that fasinates me, is that at only 161,000 (FF estimated price) he will go up considerably even if he only goes to his 2007 average of about 67(not entirely sure). That said, you can downgrade a good rookie, and use the extra cash to upgrade an improved Egan to a gun.

So I think ill start Egan on the field anyway.

As for Danyle Pearce. Im tipping a big surge up the ladder for Port, which is handy when your doing your SC teams. I dont know much, but in previous years ive always been told to steer clear of Pearce, because of his disposal. Depends if you want to take the punt, since players can go from SC spuds one year to a gun the next.

What about Brad Johnson?

What about Brad Johnson?

Too old now. Used to be one of the more durable players in the comp but injuries have started to get the better of him. He isn't venturing outside 50 as much these days so needs goals to get a decent score. Can only see his scores decreasing.

Pat Veszpremi.

Veszpremi is in that awkward price range, and being a second year player it doesn't look like he will be much value unless he plays as well as Selwood did this year. He would be quite unique, but at the end of the day you have to weigh up other options.

Next: Beau Waters

No f-king way. Beau "Bane of my existance" Waters can go jump next season.

Disposal is too poor (at least it was this year), he lost any discipline he had before and all confidence, just like the Eagles I guess. Maybe if the Eagles can turn it around he will score better, but I'm not touchin him.

100k more expensive next year than he was this year, was looking great for it to, til round 13...

Finished the last 9 rounds scoring 268 for me.

His shoulder is too big a risk for me to go near him again.

Brad Ottens.

Definate grab if you have the funds. Will only go up, being the Cats number 1 ruckman and the oppertunity to go forward too.

Rob Warnock. :thumbsu:

The ruck duties will be shared too evenly between Warnock, Cloke and Kreuzer for any of them to be sucessful for Fantasy teams.

Quinten Lynch.

Quinten Lynch.
Seems as though the consensus is that FF's now reinvent themselves on the wing (even some Essendon supporters...haha Lloyd on the wing), which is where lots of Eagles supporters see Lynch this year.

Scored pretty well there at the tail of last season, and with WC looking to improve, could mean an increase in scoring. Averaged 85, dropping from 97 in 07. Could average 90-95

Birchall...

Not any more.

Seriously though, the big Q dropped in price a bit I think, probably because no one in his team could kick straight last year, will be on the radar next year, especially if he moved his big frame into the middle of the ground.

Jesse W Smith.

Edit: Doh too slow! Ah well next person has to do Birchall and Smith!

Has played 22 games a year for the last 5 years.

Averaged 110 for the last 7 rounds of the year.

Started the year terribly, but went great guns with a little mid-time.

Will be one of my first picked through durability alone.

Jack Riewoldt.

edit: waaaaay to slow... ah well, I'll get him in there...

Birchall...

If you want a player to average you 85 week in week out without injury. Birchall is your man.

An absolute solid choice too set and forget in the backline.
(ps - not doing smith)

Birchall...

Probably the Hawks main attacking defender besides Hodge. Could be a toss up because if Guerra, Hodge and Ellis turn into launching pads as well, it might mean Birch is assigned a different role.

Jesse W Smith.

Is cheap, still young and has previously had a reasonable average. Definatley on my short list. :thumbsu:

Edit: Just looked at his price, would want a bit of a discount before i grab him, he only played two games!

Jack Riewoldt.

Wouldnt recommend him to start with. Wont dominate fantasy scoring unless he kicks a bag, and is still to raw. If your looking for forwards from Richmond, i'd recommend the smaller options. Such as Mitch Morton.

Ill throw up Tom Hawkins.

Ill throw up Tom Hawkins.

Surely it's his time now. The cats are crying out for a dominant CHF and you know that if he plays, he will score well because of the cats dominance.

Daniel Giansiracusa.

Giansiracusa provided the Bulldogs an avenue to goal throughout 2008 and bobbed up with bags of 3 or 4 goals in several games.

Not a bad option to have in your forward line if he isn't that expensive and he had an average 93.09 for the season. With Johnson getting on in years and Welsh being pretty average he could be good value as a 6th or 7th forward in you SC team.

Next, Andrew Embley! :D

Next, Andrew Embley! :D

Established himself this year as midfielder/running back and racked up some massive scores as an effective user of the pill.

Would be a unique choice but is a bit pricey even though in some games he just plain went missing.

The impact of Kerr returning must be considered also.

I wouldn't make my decision until watching the NAB cup

Next. Bachar Houli

Had Houli from start this year and was a good link between the Essendon defence and their forward 50. Was going well until groin injury halted year.

Keep an eye on his recovery.

Next: Matthew Leuneberger

Next: Matthew Leuneberger

Very cheap and a lot of hype about him, but I would wait till the pre-season cup and see how Voss uses him before committing. Perhaps Seaby or Ottens are better for a 2nd ruck position.
