I 5cm's I

Josh Gibson should of been All Australian this year and he is 189Cm's. There are so many ways to overcome a couple of cm's. Being faster, having a better leap, being stronger, longer arms, skill and smarts. Fevola was 191cm's.
Not to mention some players have long necks. What the correct measurement should be is height from toe to tip of fingers stretched above the head.

It's interesting that this stat, or a running jump height isn't used more. I'm guessing it is in recruiting and footy circles, but this sort of info, if public, would provide an interesting compliment to height.

Fyfe for example would have a decent improvement in size using this measurement. I'm a bit similar to Fyfe, only 184 but with a 191cm wing-span and good leap I'm more like 188-89. Which is handy, because I've hot rubbish skills and no ground-level game. TMI.

Yeah, would be nice if they released the actual height reached with vertical and running jumps. McPharlin is listed as 193cm, but he would play taller than almost every KPP in the game.

Yeah wicked work Arcassius I was thinking of doing a similar thing but couldnt find the motivation great stuff :thumbsu:

It goes to show how by drafting strongly you usually find a lot of talent however our drafting from inception til 2007 was pretty dismal and I think that in the short term this is going to cost us success however we are looking good for about 5 yrs time.

Well the number of older players will always taper off - I'm thinking of doing something a little more comprehensive and inputting all teams in the competition to work out spreads of players by draft. I'd be interested to see how we stack up against other teams, and it will probably give clearer insight into our drafting by comparing our team to other teams considered to be 'building' in the same period.

I dunno - I like stats. Might need a hand getting every player and their age and draft into the system though
