Typical french commentators, Rafa spoke some french at the end of his speach (which was not incomprehensible or anything), and the commies say something along the lines of "how about subtitles?"

Love to know how Federer would be a head of Novak/Nadal for Wimbledon. Jeez I hope they meet in the semi, so Novak gets to thrash Murray!

I wouldn't bet on Dokovich to 'thrash' Murray at Wimbledon, Murray has shown himself to be in that very small group of players who have a decent idea of how to play on grass, Djokovich has never looked all that assured.

In fact if they did play and there was a good price for Murray then I'd be tempted to go a few quid on him.

Djokovic's weakest surface is grass so Nadal and Fed would rightly be the favourites. I just hope Novak can avoid Fed on his side of the draw for once.

Bring on Nadal/Fed at wimbledon so that head to head can go 18-8...more humiliation ahead for Federer.Seriously, if he wishes to save his legacy, he should have tanked and gave Nole a chance, getting bitchslapped by Rafa at Masters series and grand slams must suck :D

Great comment from a humble player

Roger Federer said:
"It's always me who's going to dictate play& decide how the outcome is going to be. If I play well...
... I will most likely win in the score or beat [Nadal]; if I'm not playing so well, that's when he wins."

Then

But, you know, it’s normal. It’s how Rafa wins the points. He likes the rallies. I’m not too sad because I’ve played a good match. I was almost on the brink of winning the match, so I’m disappointed, but not too much.

He was on the brink of winning the match? can anyone here explain when was he on the brink of "winning" the match?

wow just wow :rolleyes::rolleyes: , that loss must have been tough to handle i reckon.

TIRO and cronies, if you are wondering why i hate federer...look no further, i can provide you millions of such disgraceful comments only after a loss.He is the most humble man after a victory.

He's just a Federer hater that acts on emotion. Tennis knowledge is minimal.

yeah everyone who dislikes federer has no tennis knowledge  .I have explained why i hate federer perfectly well..i have a solid case here and so does Drummond. You like Federer good on ya..dont expect others to be like you.I hope you enjoyed todays match 17 > 8, 6 > 2

I know u hate Fed TP, but come on, dont be so selective with the quotes u use . Its not cool.
"I'm the one that's playing with smaller margins, so obviously I'm always going to go through a few more ups and downs, whereas Rafa is content doing the one thing for the entire time.

"So it's always me who's going to dictate play and decide how the outcome is going to be. If I play well, I will most likely win. If I'm not playing so well, that's when he wins.

But I thought Rafa played well. I think he dug deep to come back in the first set and get himself into the match. And also the second set.

"It was tough all the way through. I thought we played at a very high level and I was pretty happy with the way I played today.

"Overall I'm very happy about the tournament. Obviously you should be disappointed after losing in a Grand Slam final. I feel that a little bit today."
In context, the quote is much better, and correct(in a way). Fed has more UE and winners after all. i think that is what he was trying to say. Is it a mother Teresa quote of humbleness, no, but it is no where near what Serena normally says in a loss.

Well Done Rafa.if the first set went the other way, like it could so easily could, it would have been interesting. cant wait for Wimbo.

Federer hasn't played well for 6 months and a reasonably easy draw at the French won't change my mind. He will get to the quarters, but after that he better hope he doesn't draw Berdych, Djokovic, etc.

Another great Grand Slam Final between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer and once again it was Rafa that got the W to win his sixth French Open title.

Pre-match, I really thought Roger would get up. It to me obviously meant winning the 1st Set like against Djokovic - which he failed to do last night - but also given the form of Nadal throughout this years French Open, he hasn't been anywhere near his best and last night really was the best chance I think Roger will ever get at beating Nadal at Roland Garros.

To be fair to Roger, he played the game about as well as he could have, especially in that 1st Set. Nadal was definitely showing some nerves, made 6-7 unforced errors in the first few games alone and Roger did come out looking to dictate the points. Was unlucky when he had that set point at 5-2 when his backhand slice drop-shot went just wide. Then he played a pretty poor next service game to gift Nadal the break back. The next couple of games Federer looked rattled and Nadal took the 1st Set in the end with ease. I really thought the game was over after that.

To Roger's credit though, he kept going for his shots but the problem was that he simply couldn't put Rafa away. Nadal just gets to so many balls, makes you play one or two extra shots in a point and usually because of this, it's he that comes out on top. Credit to Roger for coming back from 4-2 down in the 3rd Set to win it 7-5 and he should have broken in the first game of the 4th Set having had three breaks points. As soon as Rafa held to go up 1-0, he was never going to lose.

Overall, again a great match between these two legends of the game. Federer played Nadal about as well as he could have on clay but it's just never going to happen for him at Roland Garros against Nadal. If that match had have been at Wimbledon or even at the US Open, Federer would have won a lot more cheaper points that he was unable to do last night. Also, Nadal holds onto his No. 1 ranking with the win, although it really is only a matter of time before Djokovic takes the No. 1 ranking whether it's after Wimbledon or before the US Open, to me it's going to happen.

Now Wimbledon just two weeks away, get excited folks, it's going to be fantastic.

Anyone get the sense that Federer had a case of the Andy Murrays on big points last night. Especially 5-2 up Cmon you would expect Fed to close that out 10 times out of 10

Congrats to nadal though he is a machine.

After he lost to Berdych at Wimbledon last year is a start and probably the most disgraceful were after he lost to Nadal in the 2008 final when he whinged about the light.

Shall I look them up for you and post them here.

It's a start. But apparently there are millions so feel free to do some research. TP might need your help when he/she runs out of quotes. Maybe a thread should be created? Probably a good idea to keep these millions of quotes all in the one place.

Seriously? You've never exaggerated in your life? The point remains though, for such a 'classy' and 'humble' guy, he sure does like to whinge whenever he loses. Would be nice if he could just give credit to the opposition and leave it at that! Not try and denounce their achievement because he was injured or the light was bad or he had mono ect! He's building a pretty bad reputation of making some really poor comments after losses.

Sorry, some of those have been stated already. Still a way to go....
