Re: Round 4 and a 3 team bye

I'd be getting rid of Goddard as his price will drop after 3 poor performances and get in a quality cheap player like Nick Lower or Heppll if you don't have them. Cash up and get Goddard later when he starts performing

I think im going to hold on to Goddard, he got 111 points this weekend and played at probably 70%. He has a lot more to offer and plus already have those young stars in my team

Re: Round 4 Trades

I'm thinkin a sideways trade Gilbert to rioli. I thought Gilbert was going to be premium but it looks like I was wrong + st kilda's form isn't great. What do people think?

I wasn't considering any trades until I read this. Now that's the only trade I'm considering too. :D I'll probably still hold on to Gilbert and try to bring Rioli in after his week 6 bye because there's potential issues there with also having Franklin and Pavlich in the forward line.

Re: Round 4 and a 3 team bye

Not sure why people would trade them (Goddard & Riewoldt) out.

Both are proven guns that you would be wasting two trades to save cash. Ride the bump and keep them, and wait for them to show there worth.

If they are consistently bad (less than say 90) week in, week out then that is where you should consider someone else but the fact that Goddard is averaging 111 and not 130 is laughable.

That's a good point re byes but his price will increase quite a bit next week.

I would do that (Green > Rioli), think he is going to go up another notch this year and be a top 20 player in the competition (if he is not already).

I have a dilema

Am thinking of trading out Cameron Pederson (DEF - $109,700) but does not look likely of getting a gig any time soon after a decent enough start (114).

Am looking to trade him for one of the other rookies that have not gone up in price, who would people consider?

Michael Coad (GC - $123,700, ave. 84, 1 game)
Shaun McKernan (ADE - $110,200, ave. 69.5, 2 game [MPP DEF/FWD])
Brode Smith (ADE - $123,700, ave. 67, 2 game)
Danny Stanley (GC - $117,700, ave. 59.5, 2 game)

Am not realy considering any other rookies as I do not think there job security or price rise risk is worth it.

Who are people really considering in the defence?

DEFENDER rookies already: Lower, Otten, Duigan, Heppell/Hibberd [MPP].

Am also highly considering trading out Michael Hibberd [MID/DEF] for one of the guys who are yet to go up in price.

Dion PRestia, Trent McKenzie,

Otherwise I could just leave the team the way it is and save myself a couple of trades? Might just do that.

That's the only reason I'm considering it this week. The other option is to wait until after week seven when the 142 drops out of his rolling average, assuming he hasn't kept up scoring at that rate.

I'm just noting that McKernan's played two games, he's on the bubble this week.

Can't undestand players wanting to get Goddard out of their team. He has been playing poor but still averages good scores.

Yeah, same applies to most players over that $500,000 mark that isnt averaging 110 PPG.

Not sure why people are wasting trades.

Re: Round 4 and a 3 team bye

I guess it depends if you're going for overall glory or league glory. If league glory is all that floats your boat then you can be a lot more selective as to who you trade.

I agree, Riewoldt and Goddard averaging over 100 is good enough for me, so they'll be on my pine this week and straight back in the week after. Having said that I'm seriously considering trading Montagna for Bartel.

Montagna has been very disappointing and only average 90 for a premium is not good enough. Add to the fact he won't be playing this weekend and it makes it even more compelling, at least for me. If it wasn't the Dogs bye this weekend I'd be looking at downgrading Broughton for Murphy too. Haven't been happy with Broughton but at the moment, Montagna for Bartel is the only trade I'm seriously considering.

Re: Round 4 Trades

I have no idea what to do this week... I want Rioli but I have 3 rookies (P Puopolo, I Smith, J Lamb) who are yet to get a game. I'm not sure if I should leave them and pick up Rioli before his price rises, or if I should sideways trade the rookies for others that are getting games

Re: Round 4 Trades

As mentioned in another thread, I'm seriously considering trading Montagna for Bartel. Montagna has been disappointing, an average of 90 for a premium is below par for me. Add to that he's got the bye this week and with Bartel in scintilating form, that's the one trade I'm seriously considering.

If it wasn't for the bye this week I'd also look at Broughton for Murphy.

Re: Round 4 Trades

Question - Do we give Andrejs Everitt another week after an excellent score. Or do we accept the probability that it was simply a flash in the pan after his two crappy scores before, take the small price rise and run?

Im thinking if I downgrade Everitt to McKernan, it should give me enough money total to upgrade Chris Knights to Rioli. :thumbsu:

After a big score you usually wait a week or two to see if they can back it up. I'm sure his breakeven would be low, so there's not much risk in holding onto him another week. The potential positives are an even larger price rise and perhaps Everitt becoming a keeper for you (although I doubt it).

I suppose a lot depends on how much you want McKernan and Rioli.

Re: Round 4 Trades

I need to upgrade one of my cheap struggling midfielders, have about 410k, so looking at anyone under that.. Already Have Cotchin. Thinking Stephen Hill Or Fyfe maybe. Cant decide. Whats Suggestions?? Thanksss.

I'd get Fyfe.

Re: Round 4 Trades

Seriously considering a sideways of Brad Green to one of Missy Higgins, Dawes or Nat Fyfe.

Can't see Green scoring big in that Melbourne team and it would also free up ~$30,000 -$40,000.

Re: Round 4 Trades

What do you guys think of Jack Grimes? He is not performing at a level that is relative to his price tag. I am thinking of trading him.

Re: Round 4 Trades

Geez Montagna is annoying me. This is the first year I've started with him in the last 3 years and just my luck, he starts slowly!
Can't see myself trading him out though. Would be a pretty silly sideways trade. Surely he will bounce back into some form soon?! (Someone please reassure me here...)

Interested to hear what people are thinking of doing with Adelaide pair Otten and Knights? Both have failed to impress and seem to be a bit of a waste at the moment, especially Knights who is $237,000 and averaging 66.

I've considered trading him down for Darling but WC have the bye next week... Maybe Prestia?

Hmmm. Why can't it be Friday already?!

Has a 90 plus and 2 80 plus scores in 3 rounds. He's only slightly down on his expected output, scores like that certainly aren't killing your team

Next game is against gold coast

keep..
