Re: Round 2 trades

Those people who don't trade early are wowsers.

Supercoach is like the sharemarket.

Buy low, sell high.

You don't want to miss a potential superstar stock because you didn't want to use 1 trade early on in the year.

Cowardice and sheer stupidity.

No price changes till round 3, Mr.Brightspark.

Re: Round 2 trades

Trades in the bank + kiddy cash cows is what it's all about.

Will build a portfolio and off a few kids to have a mid season tilt at the top 1000

Re: Round 2 trades

No trades.

Will wait until some kids get closer to price rises before contemplating it.

Most probably won't trade until forced or Round 10 when GC get their byes out of the way.

After round 6 for me. If Curnow stacks on the points again this week and Atley fails I may consider a trade but I probably won't bother. Looking like having plenty of nice cows in Libba, Lower, Tapscott, Duigan, Heppell, Richardson, Swallow (obvious) etc so it won't really be worth wasting the trade. Better to just let Atley rise slowly and use him as one of thr later trades.

Re: Round 2 trades

Unless you have Brown you shouldn't even be considering a trade before round 2.

and lecras. i reckon he'll be gone for a good while. but more will be revealed later in the week.

staker is out for the season. porplyza is going to miss a fair bit too... not sure of any other injuries.

Most people should use at least 1 trade(probably 2) after Round 2, unless you've been incredibly lucky with your rookie selections.

Thought it was pretty obvious what I meant. You don't go making willy nilly trades after 1 round unless you cop a long term injury.

Surely people are taking the piss with their Selwood ===> Judd and Bruce ===> Lower calls.

Why? How many do you need?

Re: Round 2 trades

I feel like trading Goodes > ROK. LOL! :D:thumbsu:

Can't believe I got suckered into getting Goodes again, especially when he cost me in the finals last year.:thumbsd:

After round 2 I may do this double trade -

Goodes > ROK

Atley > Curnow. :o

Me panic? Never. I like to trade that's all. :p

Re: Round 2 trades

cant beleive im doing this but everything tells me it's the right thing to do...

boomer to chappy
gai to ROK

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. what do ppl think???

that is true.

with gold coast not having played round one this year people were picking some of their players on a bit of a whim. could be a lot of people trading rookies after round 2 to try and get a different rookie.

Re: Round 2 trades

i've been tempted to get rid of either buddy for cyril.

or goodes for o'keefe.. any thoughts?

Goodes > ROK. Do this if Goodes spuds it up again and ROK kills it again. I will be. :D:thumbsu:

I am also thinking about Selwood > Bartel but probably wont.

My team is not too bad, just a bit unlucky last week. Have to keep the faith. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 2 trades

Last year i ran last 6 matches on empty. This year, I'm trying to get the most out of my bench and my poorer selections. LTI's are an exception for my trading, and once teams get the byes out of the way...then I might upgrade with a few sneaky trades

As I said i don't know anything about supercoach but this sounds like bullshit. I has crap rookies that aren't even going to play, why would I keep them on my team and not exchange them for the same price as a player who is going to play his second game and (I assume) go up in price after round 3?

I also went for mid price players like Scott Selwood instead of cheap rookies (i couldn't log onto supercoach before the lockout and tweak my team as I would have liked- i was waiting to see who was definitely going to play), so I don't see why I should wait for their price to lower before making a swap to someone who is going to be more profitable?

Would love to be proved wrong in my theories though, once again- i don't know shit about this game :)

Re: Round 2 trades

^^ you only sideways trade when you're absolutely desperate.

having trades is very crucial at seasons end once injuries kick in and players get rested and sent to the hospital table early.

also having rookies who aren't playing is going to be costly.

This is where even basic research would have helped. FFS Rate my team had hundreds of similar teams noobs could have copied off.

I hope to get 6-10 weeks out of most of my rookies. Need that cash in the bank.

Re: Round 2 trades

No price changes till round 3, Mr.Brightspark.

What does that have to do with anything?

If your rookie isn't playing then why not get in one who is and guarantee yourself some points and (more importantly) so that you don't miss out on the price rise next round.

Should the people who didn't have Barlow in their team in Round 1 last year have waited until the price rise round to get him in because they didn't want to burn a trade too early?

Buy low, sell high Jimi :thumbsu:

Re: Round 2 trades

Need 2 weeks imo before you jump in. Could get 20 next week and then serious questions need to be asked.

Tapscott is a very good player who you could safely get straight in knowing he will play often. Lower & Heppell too.

There'd be 10 other examples of players that I wouldn't know about that'd be in the same catagory too.

Re: Round 2 trades

Should have had those guys from the get go.

Those without them didn't do their homework. Very naughty :)

I have them all. Only one I don't is Curnow. Only a fool would bring in Curnow this week. You can go for it. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 2 trades

Thinking of swapping Gia for J Riewoldt. I think I'll leave that decision for after round 2 depending on their performance.

ROFL at people considering trading out keepers after 1 round.

I think I will trade out Selwood, Deledio, Grimes and Goodes.

People were saying exactly the same thing about Gysberts after he pulled out a 100-odd point game on debut against Geelong. He got the Rising Star nomination the next week, getting the most possessions on the ground against Carlton. Played one more game for the Dees, got dropped and we never saw him again. The only reason I didn't bring him in was because I simply did not have any trades to burn at the time.

I'm not saying don't bring Tapscott in. I'm just saying the 'sure-thing' cash cow is quite rare and just because Tapscott and Heppell killed it in Round 1, doesn't mean they'll definitely still be in the senior side in a month's time. I would definitely wait a week, at least.
