Re: Round 2 - Trades

I'm considering trading out Johncock for Gibbs.

I really shouldn't as I picked Johncock as a premium, but I'm not sure I can bear the site of Gibbs racking up the points with ease.

Should I do the trade?

Re: Round 2 trades

Fisher and Jolly for Lower and Cox.

Don't really understand why Fisher was in my team in the first place, and Jolly seems to be having a slow start again.

I'm always careful with my trades and have gotten stuck with one or two left at the end of the season, so I don't mind using two now.

Ouch!!

Re: Round 2 - Trades

held onto LeCras for one week to just have a one extra week to assess my options before prices change. all my rookies are playing so i'm happy to sacrifice 20 to 40 points to make sure i'm 100% happy about my decision.

He was tagged in teh Hawks game so hopefully he will bounce back next week. Has had a good preseason so is ready to go. Hold onto him:thumbsu:

I still dont know if I will make any trades yet, Hibbered better play soon tho. :(

Re: Round 2 trades

Soft tissue maybe, but a collision injury with a knee to the head? I wouldn't mind a crystal ball that can predict that.

2007: 22 Games
2008: 21 Games
2009: 22 Games
2010: 16 Games

How can you question the durability of a bloke who has only missed 7 out of 88 games.

He started 2010 with 130, 171 and 141, and people were trading out half their forward line to get him. He then picked up an injury, but finished the year with 143 and 161.

Was on the way to a ton without a pre-season on Saturday night. I would hazard a guess to say you haven't had any solid SC results in the past.

Yes but most of those games he missed were last year, and as an aging player chances are it will only get worse. Also because Brisbane rely on him so much he should have (as vossy now admits) missed far more games. The same goes for most of his other seasons, he's great for a while but eventually injuries almost always start bringing him down, he's just such a warrior that he usually doesnt let them stop him playing. Unfortunately his style of play is almost always going to lead to injury.

*Edit in regard to my supercoach scores I was top 5000 last year and have started this year with 2341 and 2361, haven't had any injuries either funnily enough. Happy trading ;)

Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Curnow is VERY tempting, if any of my midfield rookies get dropped next week i'll be looking closely at him. On the flipside surely his scores will drop off once Carlton play a good side though.

What trades are people considering? Which rookies do you think are must haves that you are going to bring in?

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I hate sideways trading but Atley to Curnow has to be considered / done.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Geez if i want Curnow, I want 3 Carlton players in my mids. Might be worth it i play Curnow for 5 weeks of cash earning goodness and then dump him during bye week for another kid.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Tempted to go Conca -> Curnow but I already have some decent cash cows and I'm wary of the fact he probably won't score as well against Collingwood.

Still, while I have been much more patient than previous years I'm starting to get an itchy trigger finger.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Chris Dawes is looking tempting !

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Curnow is tempting but on the other hand he is really the only rookie I've missed. If I was going to get him it would be for Krakouer, Libba or Bewick and unless one of the latter two go absolutely terribly or are injured tomorrow then there isn't a pressing need for it.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Ditto. If I go curnow, I lose mpp as Duncan is my only trade worth doing. Unless I go prestia to curnow, which is silly

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Atley to Curnow
L.Davis to Dawes

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

It feels good having Curnow in my team from the start.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

thinking maybe Hayes to Embley...

Wait for Selwood/ Hodge to drop in price.

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

You've done well Cross. Looking at Curnow.. Maybe see how Callan Ward goes today and take it from there..

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

Wouldn't mind downgrading Higgins or Sylvia to Tapscott and upgrading Boak to Swan. Depends how they all perform today.

Thinking of doing a direct Ward to Curnow?

Still not sure what I'm going to do - probably just a straight Atley>Curnow switch.

Yeah looking at that trade (Ward > Curnow) not 110% convinced but 'Cheryl' looks a money maker..

Re: Round 3 Trades & Trading Strategies

I think i've cooled on the Curnow trade. All my other rookies are going well and I don't have any premiums that I want to downgrade.

Here's my rookie list: Lower, Duigan, Otten, Stanley, Toy, Libba, Irons, Harris, Swallow, Heppell, Zac Smith, Tapscott, Darling, Matera, Prestia, C Richardson.
