Should have known.

No room for Daniel Jakcson...

OMG! We could have had Selwood, Cotchin, Darling, Talia, Fyfe and Murdoch!!!!!!

No surprise that Talia played well in his third season and won an award as meaningless as the rising star award. They know how to develop talls. Sellar is still their only real bust from Gunston, Davis, Walker, Tippett, Shaw, McKernan, Maric, Sellar, Luke Thompson, Otten and Talia.

Love that they get credit for Jacobs.

Half those players have hardly set the football world on fire. Bower also had 1 good year.

Tweeted Emma Quayle. Said Wines to Carlton is probably a miracle and asked who we are most likely to get. I suggested Menzel and she said probably.
Obviously it's all speculation but it's not a horrible possibility ;)

You're knocking Davis plus the others who are still young?

Davis has had shoulder problems like Luke Mitchell and Robbie Tarrant.

Otten did his knee like Kreuzer.

Scenario: Brodie Grundy is available at our pick. He's the best around. Do we take him? Passable as a tall forward, and could be an elite ruck.

If we said yes it would mean one of Hampson or Warnock would be traded out in the next two years. It could also mean we end up with one of if not the best ruck division in the league feeding some pretty damn good mids.

Not an easy decision IMO, and I wouldn't be upset if we took him

I'd cry if we selected another ruckman, over a midfielder, key position or flanker.

So is the eleventh-hour vibe suggesting that Dayle Garlett isn't getting drafted at all, or that clubs just aren't willing to use their first-rounders on him?

If he was still available at #35 surely he would be worth the risk?

Was about to post the same dilemma!
A waste of one of our talks but would happily have him on our list!

GWS know we won't take Grundy and thats why they will take the punt on picking him up at Pick 12. Maybe Port Adelaide will take Grundy but thats a calculated risk. There is no chance Whitfield, Plowman and O'Rourke would last to Pick 12.

People realize that Grundy is as good as Kreuzer was in his junior years right?

It's a shit load of talent to ignore, particularly when, and I say this loving both boys, Hampson and Warnock have more trade value then they do value to the team.

Having four rucks, 1 who is a developing prospect, is hardly crazy.

Nowhere near as good as Kreuzer in his junior years. Kreuzer won a Morrish medal.

He's pretty slow and doesn't contest all that well if he's out of position. Good forward and good below his knees but doesn't get to as many contests as Kreuzer because he's not as quick.

If he was good as Kreuzer he wouldn't be sliding out of the top six.

Beg your pardon. I'm only repeating the words of experts. I didn't get to see Kreuze's juniors.

I stand corrected. Interesting proposition none the less

He's got plenty of positives of course and he is the best ruck in the draft, just a long way from the best player. Just doesn't impact or impress in his games in the same way Kreuzer does.

Hammer and Warnock - particularly with the new rules, are better rucks to advantage then Kreuz. Kruez has ground skills, and i'd doubt they would be THAT much better than Hampsons. Hammer is a better forward. We would be nuts to add another potential ruck with the likes of Casboult and Rowe who can both ruck, Rowe was full time ruck in SANFL and goes fwd...

Leave the ruck til next year, now we probably need decent healthy defenders. No offence to the current guys, just need them on the ground more often. Jacshk?* looks like he can play both ends of the field like Hendo.

Not yet sold Stringer is a Bulldog. Was listening to a 'draft expert' yesterday who made a valid point. The Dogs ruck stocks are made up of tall KPP's playing in the ruck. They want to be playing the Collingwood model of 3 talls in the fwd line which would be Cordy or Minson. They're also looking for more mid help to cover Cooney and the loss of Ward which cost them last year. He saw them going for Grundy and Wines. He thinks MELB will take Wines for the Viney factor and not Toumpas.

If Macrae and Stringer to the Dogs is correct, would the Power take Mayes?

1. Whitfield
2. O'Rourke
3. Plowman
4. Toumpas
5. Stringer
6. Macrae
7. Mayes
8. Wines
9. Menzel
11. Vlastuin

Unless of course he slides to Collingwood. Then we'll hear Hine state that Grundy and Witts will be better than Kreuzer and Naitanui.

saw jay clark's tweet this morning saying "tomorrow night's draft could work out very well for carlton. dream scenario looming at pick 11."

He would've mean't Wines. Let's hope so. I still have a feeling about Simpson, reckon he's well and truly in the mix.
