1. Apart from the Redskins which team will trade up in the 1st round?
2. Who is likely to trade down?
3. Will any teams miss their pick?
4. Offence or Defence for the most picks?
5. How many WRs will be taken?
6. How many OL will be taken?
7. Will Alshon Jeffery go in the 1st round?
8. Will Janoris Jenkins go in the 1st round?
9. Who will be the first DL taken?
10. Will the Redskins completely stuff up and end up drafting Robert Griffin OT Baylor at #2?

1. Philly
2. NE (does that count considering they trade down every year?)
3. No
4. Offense
5. 5 (Floyd, Blackmon, Wright, Hill, Randle)
6. 6 (Kalil, Reiff, DeCastro, Glenn, Silatolu, Martin)
7. No
8. No
9. DT Fletcher Cox
10. No

I'm going to put my top hat on tonight and try to predict the 1st round trades in some more detail, and see how close I get.

I think there'll be a few of them at least, anything from a team moving up/down a spot or two all the way to some team making a big jump up.

There's a new Saints scandal emerging. Posting sequential links as the story evolves...

Scandal is supposedly their GM Loomis wire tapping and listening in to oppossing coaches at the superdome.

Couple other stories...

Denver replaces playbooks with iPads.
Miami owner Ross makes a big deal denying reports dolphins are drafting tannehill.
NFL omits jamarcus Russell from the draft banner that displays last ten years #1 overall picks.

1. Apart from the Redskins which team will trade up in the 1st round? If Fleener can be had early to mid twenties I can see the 49ers moving.
2. Who is likely to trade down? I think any team after the 4th pick down to the early twenties will entertain offers.
3. Will any teams miss their pick? It would crack me up if the Colts did.
4. Offence or Defence for the most picks? Think this could go down to the wire but in the end pass rushers over pass protectors always get more attention on draft day so they will deliver the edge to defense.
5. How many WRs will be taken? Anywhere from 3 -5
6. How many OL will be taken? Four
7. Will Alshon Jeffery go in the 1st round? See 5. If there is an early run on, someone (and I hope not the 49ers) might reach.
8. Will Janoris Jenkins go in the 1st round? See 7.
9. Who will be the first DL taken? Fletcher Cox
10. Will the Redskins completely stuff up and end up drafting Robert Griffin OT Baylor at #2? I hope so, just for the fun of watching Mel Kiper go into meltdown.

Could they possibly be sanctioned draft picks?

Surely there isn't enough evidence to sanction draft picks this close to the draft?

Just from the above articles that GG posted it seems a bit of a non-story until some hard evidence is shown by ESPN. If they show the evidence though the Saints will be ruined and their image tarnished for a long time.

Either way this isn't going to end well for them.

The ESPN stories on TV this morning were pretty ugly (even knocked Metta World Peace's elbow off as lead story) as far as the Saints are concerned. Of course nothing at that time was substantiated beyond the statements of the maintenance insider who blew the whistle.

I wonder if it's just Goodell who feels totally ASHAMED moreso than the NFL ?

Here's the fact that Goodell has to deal with / take to his grave some day. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if Tannehill isn't drafted Top 8 but the Dolphins are in a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation. Better judgement would be to take a solid pick instead and build their roster instead of bending to the pressure of their off-season debacle of failing to lure Peyton & Flynn.

The Saints best cut their ties with Loomis all together.

Tannehill would last till their second round pick wouldn't he?

I can't think of any other teams that would pick him in the first round, not when there are so many good 1st round prospects on offer.

Reading a few different rumours that San Diego are in love with Mark barron and May try to trade up to get him.

Maybe try to trade with Seattle at 12. as they will need to get before 14 (dallas) to land him

Barron is HOT property indeed. If the 'Boys want him, they better move on up. Can't see Barron be on the boards by the time Pick 14 arrives. Been compared to Troy Polamalu, who the Steelers traded with KC to move up to pick #16 in the 2003 draft. Chiefs got RB Larry Johnson (pick #27) and the Steelers R3 pick (CB Julian Battle / bust) while Chiefs on-traded Steelers R6 pick to the J-E-T-S.

Perhaps but you just never know which teams are thinking differently about Tannehill. We should remember how Denver took Tebow late in the first when he wasn't even a second round projection. I still think it's not a matter of where any player is chosen but moreso how they can have an immediate impact with their new team and how they fit the system. Busts are a CERT to occur so it's whether some players can adapt and teams have given ample time to interview/ analyze them thoroughly to determine if they fit their system.

live on ESPN (Friday 10.00am i think)

My mate was watching espn this mroning and he said minneosta coach was interviewed and quoted as saying "with pick 3 we want a playmaker, and if there isnt a quarterback we want or a wide receiver we will look for a defensive playmker, like a DB".

Claiborne could be the pick.

Sven you know more about Minny then anyone else here, where do you think they go?

Sounds like more talk to drum up interest for pick 3, they are obviously desperate to move it. Claiborne and Kalil both project to be elite so it wouldn't be the worst move, especially when you have to tackle the likes of stafford, Rodgers and cutler in your division.

What will be a bad move is a team subsequently passing on Kalil in favor of guys like blackmon. If both somehow got to Rams and they passed it would be terrible. Word is that about half the teams don't consider Blackmon to be an elite talent, and at the end of the day I would take Kalil and a guy like Sanu over Blackmon and Mike Adams (who may not even be there).

San Diego are also apparently thinking bout moving up because they're in love with Barron, sorry if this has been mentioned.

Yeh i spoke about that earlier.

Im 50/50 about it. If we give up a second rounder I hate it..But if its only for say a 3rd and a 6th im ok with it.

We definately need to spend a top 50 pick on either a guard or a pass rusher, cant give up pick 18 and 49 for Barron. Id rather trade down 5-6 spots, stock pile picks and draft Harrsion Smith at 25 or so

But, if we can trade up to 12 or 13 to get Barron, Keep pick 49 and draft Zeitlar or a guy like Vinny Curry...then that would be a good get

Not surprised from this crafty ploy by the Vikings. I agree with Sven that the Vikings have some plan B + C draft re-positioning to be had in the upcoming draft.

Wouldn't surprise to see teams trying to reel in the dumb arse & the desperate Dolphins front office with a offer or two, the Fins' most likely to hit the panic button.

TBH I'm no longer absolutely convinced that the Vikings are going to take Kalil at #3 over Claiborne.

What I'm am convinced about is that the Vikings are doing their best to get someone to trade up to #3 and get an extra draft pick in the process.

If a trade doesn't eventuate then I'd still be leaning towards the Vikings taking Kalil, and I'd give four reasons for that.

1. You can't get LTs through free agency and you can get CBs in free agency.

2. The Vikings play Tampa 2, which is mainly a zone based coverage scheme, and that means the Vikings don't necessarily need a shutdown corner like Claiborne

3. The Vikings gave up 49 sacks last year.

4. The Vikings have bigger needs at OT, WR and Safety than at CB. There is depth in the draft at OT and WR, but not at Safety which means the Vikings probably want an extra 2nd round pick to address the three positions early in the draft. There are probably enough CBs in the draft to get a decent guy in the third round.

I'm pretty sure they're still trying to get Tampa to bite on a trade and get pick #36 as a result

Good assessment mate, you never know, a guy like Andre Branch may be available then.

That said basically every team wants to trade down at this point.

According to Peter King from SI, says the Ravens will give up their third round pick for a flip-flop with the Lions in the first round so the Ravens can jump ahead of the Steelers to nab ILB Dont'a Hightower @ pick 23.

my take: Wouldn't surprise, infact... I expect it. LOCK it in Dottie.

Hmmm I reckon we wouldn't mind moving down, depends on if John and Pete want Ingram or Kuechly and believe they'll still be there at 12. If they are after Coples or Perry I wouldn't be surprised to see them move.

I think any talk of a team being "in love with with a player" should been taken with large grains of salt at this point. Most of time it's a smoke screen to try and get other teams to jump early.

Not happening

If the Ravens really did want Hightower and wanted to leapfrog the Steelers, they wouldn't be leaking it and advertising it.

What I read from that -- Ravens are pushing hightower out there, hoping a team who does want hightower will jump ahead and take him so that someone else they really want drops to them.

Ive only watched about 3 or 4 drafts in my time and been following since 04.

One of the most memorable draft moments ive seen is the Jets-Browns trade in 09 with the Jets trading up to get Sanchez, just purely remember the jets fans giong absolutely nuts, especially when goodell mentions "with the 5th pick, the new york jets select..Mark Sanchez, QB, USC"

Whats everyone elses most memorbale draft moment? (not including Jemarcus russel:p)
