bulldogs say they'll debut one, maybe 2 players this week.... dickson or smith? maybe both.

We haven't promoted any rookies yet so the eligible players for debut are Smith, Dickson, Pearce and Talia.

If we debut two players, it will be Smith and Dickson.

Smith be a fair chance to start as the sub or be subbed at some stage you would think.

I also left him out for this reason and also the fact that his disposal efficiency might be a worry at this early stage.

Looks a real good player, but perhaps not amongst the best cash cow rookie mids this year.

FWIW, I have Devon Smith and Adam Kennedy as my bench mid rookies, and put the (E) on Smith. D'oh! I'm in trouble if Magner doesn't play.

What type of player is Dickson TimC or anyone else who might know for that matter?

Is he more your half forward/forward pocket type or is he more of a midfielder with a bit of a tank who can spend time down forward?

Cheers in advance....

From what I've seen and in my opinion (other bulldogs fans may think otherwise) he will more of less a big bodied (more in solidness as opposed to height) forward pocket player.

I would think yes more to get subbed but I think players like Vezpremi, Wallis or Skinner would be likely subs. If none of those players Smith will probably start as a sub.

Currently my rookies are:

Def: Bugg(88) , Ellis.
Bench Spurr or Boumann, Morris

Mid: Devon Smith (55), Magner.
Bench: Clay Smith, Ledger

Ruck: -
Bench: Giles (88), Redden

Fwds: Kennedy (104), Dickson
Bench: Pfeiffer, Smedts

I've got M.Clarke and Jamie Cripps as low priced 5th Def/Fwds

Disappointed with Devon Smith but not panicking yet, I almost went for Coniglio so Smith more or less did the same job as him at 80k less. 247pts for 3 starting GWS rookies @ 82.3pts each, would have taken that at the start of the game. In retrospect JMcDonald would have been better but his NAB cup form was patchy, plus he may have some MRP attention.

What are Boumann's chances of being in the starting 18?

I could only get on the site with 5 min before lockout and i swapped shiel on the bench with Kennedy on the ground:(

Not happy, but i do have Kennedy emergency so if Magner doesn't play the news isn't all that bad.

Very skillful, fwd pocket/flanker but lacks a bit of leg speed. Didnt do as well when played on ball last year in the VFL.

I've been told Dickson is pretty similar to Crameri. Can anyone confirm this?

Dickson (183cm, 84kg) v Crameri (190cm v 95kg)

Dickson is more of a mid-sized forward for me. Has played mid at VFL level, not sure if he can do that at AFL level. Not a key forward as Thuggee_Cult asked, you are confusing with Panos.

Can any Collingwood fans give any insight on Peter Yagmoor and Jackson Paine...?

Both featured heavily in pre-season, and with a few LTI's, what is the likely hood of either getting some minutes?

Paine i think will play early as our third forward. He was very good against the Saints early on last week had roughly 8 possessions in the first quarter and set up a couple of goals. With Dawes playing second ruck this year i think he becomes a important cog he also has a great set of hands so will take a few contested marks.

Yagmoor is a bit harder to see where he will fit in. Played well off HB but he is behind everyone including Clarke, will get gametime but nowhere near what i think Paine will.

Bcoz omg footy oz goin soft.
Just trying to protect the head. Hip and shoulder fine if its within the limits set. No-one likes to see someones neck broke or facial injuries that require surgery. They are just punishing players that whack the head. Macca unfortuanately hit his head.2 weeks is about right.

Plus, the AFL tribunal would be flayed if they let him off, given he was on that very panel 6 months ago:cool:

ummmm yeah? No eyes for the ball, Maccas shoulder hit him fair in the head. It was a dangerous high bump, and I'll reitteratel, he hit him in the head.

Why you no understan this thing:confused:

Oh dam I thought he didn't hit his head. my bad

Anyone have info on Jarrad Boumann at the Hawks, they traded a decent pick for him and he has also featured heavily in the pre-season, with some decent form.

Re Boumann. There is a lot of love on the Hawks board for him. If he is starting 22 he may be worth a shot as the Hawks share it around a lot coming out of defense.

Boumann linked up well during the NAB and his kicking was pretty good as well. I have had him and Wilkes come and go a few times in my last defensive spot. Have Wilkes at the moment on the off chance he can kick a few clutch goals.......which mean good points.
