This argument that Betts does not fill a need for North is fundamentally flawed

Thomas and Betts can co-exist in the same side, Betts and Gartland, Stokes and Christian, Cyril and Pupulo (spelling), the Pest (Ballantyne) and Walters are all examples of top 6 sides who have small forwards that co-exists

In sying that I'm still confident that Betts wii be in the tri colors next year

if polec wants us he will get to us

Craigy will end up at the lions and we all know his trade philosophy

Proven champ and big game player. I could see us getting 2 years out of him, and on limited 2013 form alone Id play him before a number of our best 22.

I think Polec could go either way. Obviously Brisbane would hope to get a first or early second rd pick for him and we dont have any picks in that range. Apparently Polec is a Port Supporter, yet his mate Smith is at the Crows. I think both teams have room in the cap to give a nice offer to him.

Betts and Polec would make us so much better up front. Polec still has the talent to be a similar player to Wingard.

That wont be in their thinking. Gut feel is he will end up at port, but hope we will get him. Haven't we got a whole lot more coin than most clubs to throw around? Given our current predicament with no draft picks, and that Polec is only 20, we MUST play bloody hard ball to get him IMO.
