Zaine has been named for the game on Sunday against SA

Viojo-Rainbow playing for Metro, looks like Laverde and Duggan are missing out
which is really strange, but likely trying not to play too many at once from the same side or give them bit of a rest before they'll face SA
Is Mitch Wallis's cousin playing? (Joe Maishman) where did you get the teams from?

Knowing some of the hysteria that engulfs this board, if we don't pick up a key forward there will be temper tantrums.
If we do pick one up and he doesn't kick 70 goals in his first year, I'm predicting a delisting public flogging or a public stoning

McCartin sounds like a John Butcher type with that kicking.
We should be picking the best available player with our first pick regardless of what position that is

its not that bad, he just doesn't have a very versatile game
and as of right now he'd be the best available at our first pick

people have question marks over all of the KPPs and like someone else said
they wonder, as do I; if McCartin is dominating his level simply because he is a big unit against people at his level

Durdin is probably the most versatile and we seem to rate that pretty highly

let's hope he smashes this Ryan Burton fellow in the first half to show us what he's got and then leaves to go to a family bbq so he doesn't jump up the order too much

Could say that about nearly all of the top KPF's though they are all solidly built and are really men playing against boys...
you have to lucky to select the right one.

meh, really its the same with Wright and McCartin

the coaches of these TAC teams seem to play the big guys up forward, so they always look kinda small down back
pretty annoying really, like when when Zaine was put onto Wright; 10kgs+ lighter and 10cm taller at least

Always going to happen I'm annoyed a certain Black Horse has to do 1st ruck duties for his side cause they don't have anyone taller. Looked really good last year too :(

Go watch the NT games from years past, they have a 185cm guys doing the ruck duties because they have no-one taller!

Think that really screwed Wasley-Black quite a bit, because he was used as a KPD because he was 189cm or something like that

Well at least Fox's draft credentials will not be that high we'll be able to pick him 4th round ;) He seems to fit the Macca mold for a KPF btw hence why I like him.

i played on a kid who was bigger than me once in school footy. if big footy was around then, talk would have been rife about this guy - he was kicking bags. i sledged him plenty, calling him 'all size, no talent', 'they'll monster you at the next level', yada, yada, yada

...he proceeded to kick 14 on me, then got drafted, and monstered CHB's for a decade.

Great, now I wanna watch Seinfeld :p

who was this? GA senior?

I actually wonder how much further these young KPFs can grow from after they're drafted, interesting to note McCartin wasn't named for the game on the weekend; I hope there are no issues with his endurance

Did he respond to your sledging? And did he begin every response with "yeah...nah" and end it with "mate"?

acted like i wasn't there - didn't have to waste his time on a peasant like me.
nice enough kid after the game though.

would have loved to of had JB for the past 10 years :(

i pity the KPF we draft...because if he's not a 3 time premiership CHF by half way through his debut season, our fans will tear him to shreads.

wouldn't that be impossible?

I'd be judging a KPF really by their third year, the first year for a KPF is hard to come in and have a huge impact.....unless they're an absolute freak haha

I'll just be happy if we another KPF to be honest

Case in point, Boyd can barely hit the scoreboard in the neafl at the moment.

Ellis emerged last year as a prospect, and has taken strides again this season. A nicely-sized on-baller at 186cm and 76kg, he can also be used across half-back and set up the play, like he did for Vic Metro in its first game of the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships two weeks ago.

He's been named there again for Saturday's clash with Western Australia, but is just as comfortable in the thick of the action.

"I love going through the midfield and I feel there I can use what I've got a bit better. But I don't mind half-back and running down and getting a few touches up the field," he said. "I've been fairly consistent this year and that's what I want to be."
We'll need an upgrade on our second round pick but this is another that I rather like that can add a little class. One of many from the Western Jets who plays HB at high level.

He probably even goes inside the first round
So I doubt we'd really get a look, should just be happy with Viojo-Rainbow or something :p although...could see a team like Geelong thinking about taking him, they like to be different then everyone else when it comes to drafting, but so often get it right :(

Jordan Cunico, Jackson Nelson, Jayden Laverde; got a couple of HBFs there that hopefully get through

watched a TAC video on the selections and as I thought, some of the players are missing to give other players some exposure :) not just because of injuries, though Nathan Drummond the over ager was injured

After reading articles on the ex-US basketballer 211cm Mason Cox and his superhuman athletic qualities, it became, in this house, a game of predict which of at least 5 AFL clubs would get his signature. Unanimously the decision here was - Collingwood. Were we correct? -you betcha.
