I would.

I don't rate Petracca at all. Think he will be just a very average AFL player. I am likely to be 100% wrong but I don't see him transitioning to AFL well.

That is a massive call.
I reckon he's a cross between Ziebell and Stevie J.
Would take him at #1 without any hesitation.

hmm, best player in the draft.... Not doubting either players talent I just wonder what the scope for improvement is for both Brayshaw and Petracca.

Petracca was a goal kicking half forward with an explosiveness about the way he played he then built his tank up and is very handy in the midfield, although size wise he's not going to fill out any more and it will be interesting to see that big body against other big bodies.

Brayshaw has always been a midfield and due to his family connections has been in an elite training program (money no barrier) since his early teens. I honestly think there is no improvement in this player, in saying that it wont be a major problem because he is AFL ready made.

McCartin on the other hand i believe will grow into a very good dominate Full forward or Centre half forward, he'd be my choice as #1 and best future prospect (not including Moore)

Of the midfielders I think if LaVerde can make the transition into the midfield he'll be a MaCrae clone, Heeney and Wellar have fantastic attributes to be very good players they just need to change there bodies from boys to men.

Would be happier for no snaps though.................didn't help Josh :)

I'm seeing Brayshaw as being the best of the lot. Kid's a beast.
Which is why it's such a crying shame melbourne will ruin him :(

I don't think so on this occasion.
Brayshaw seems to be a self-motivated individual and they're pretty hard to ruin.

Have felt sorry for Toumpas though as his confidence seems to have been shot. Hope that turns for him as he is a talent.

Fair enough and most of the experts agree with you.

I still think he will struggle.

I didn't see Heeney live nor had I seen Petracca and even though Brayshaw may come off a little meat & potatoes, it's more of a Vlado's type meat & potatoes.

If this is a reference to Vlado's on Bridge Road - you sir have excellent taste.

One of my favourite things about visiting Melbourne.

Each to their own.
My only query over Petracca is his body shape as it stands now.
He's a man child and may not have much more to develop physically.

I'm liking Corey Ellis @ 19 if there isn't another slider.

And if we get Menadue @ 28, I'll be over the moon.

I think Ellis will be ok, I expect bit of time both developing in the 2's but in the long term I can see both regulars in the squad. Hard to see 19 still if between Ellis and Lamb or even Marchbank still take Marchbank but good to see good talent available at 19 and 28

all 3 will be guns. Hard to say how many will get big game time but I'm willing to see how all 3 develop over a period of 3-4 years but all 3 are competitive beasts

So he's worked his arse off to make sure he can play AFL. That's the attitude you want from your draftees

They won't get one, but they might make one.

Paul Roos is there to change the culture of the Melbourne FC. I did see improvement last year in their list to think they are on the right path. Viney, Dom Tyson looked ok plus Jesse Hogan and Salem lots of upside.

Toumpas and Watts have to see how they go but soon find out. Picks 2&3 along side Sam Frost who they recruited you would pray turn out ok lol

Heeney for mine on my limited viewing this year. Sydney:mad:

Maybe Blues should build their own AIS academy and develop say Petracca and McCartin and get them both at picks 19 & 28, thoughts?

Sydney and GWS get away with too much, even Jack Steele will be a gun and Giants get him in 2nd round

Why would I pray that?

I hope they stink it up worse than Luke Livingston. Melbourne can go suck an egg.

Ben Cousins was like this and he turned out ok on the field

Lol lol lol best thing I've heard all day

Reason I said pray is it must be hard being a Dees supporter and going to draft day, they could end up with the whole draft and still stuff it up. But in all honestly would be nice to see some improvement which we did see and young elite talent coming through as it's been a long road since 2008, with sackings and death of Jim Stynes plus more. I hope they do well in 2015 but not expense of Blues

Would love to have an academy but it will never happen. We have the TAC system to develop kids. In QLD and NSW the cupboard is bare with regard to junior development. Hence academies.
