Jaksch is an interesting one. Not sure how keen we'd be on him and how much chance we'd be of landing him. I dare say we won't be interested in giving up our first rounder for him and our 2nd may not be enough, so he may go to a club with a pick around the middle of the first round, if he leaves.

What are you on about ARR you just offer them our second round pick and they'll go and accept a later selection (Bruce is the example). :p

Looking at the two new clubs out of contract list (as it stand currently):

Gold Coast Suns; Zac Smith, Tim Sumner, Alex Sexton, Karmichael Hunt, Luke Russell, Harley Bennell, Sam Day, Matthew Warnock, Steven May, Jeremy Taylor, Tom Nicholls, David Swallow, Danny Stanley, Tom Murphey, Jackson Allen, Brandon Matera, Jack Hutchins, Michael Rischitelli, Greg Broughton, Nathan Bock, Andrew Boston (Rookie), Louis Herbert (Rookie), Leigh Osborne (Rookie), Jarred Ellis (Rookie), Josh Hall (Rookie)

GWS: Jonathon O'Rourke, Lachie Plowman, Kristian Jaksch, James Stewart, Stephen Gilham, Mark Whiley, Tom Downie, Dylan Addison, Sam Schulz (Rookie)

Gold Coast may be the club to target. Not sure if it's true, but someone on BF said today or yesterday that they have the same salary cap next year as the rest of the comp bar Sydney and GWS, which means they could start to have a real squeeze to fit everyone in, if true, especially if Gaz is still on a mil or more. There are plenty who appeal on that out-of-contract list for them. Unfortunately not many of them are from Vic, I don't think, with the likes of Bennell, Matera and Swallow from WA, Day from SA and Smith from Qld (not that we're likely to be targeting the ruck any more).

Interesting article on the back page of the HS today claiming that 203cm Darcy Moore is worth as much as a top 5 pick and that as such Collingwood will probably have to give up their first rounder for him if they want him. Opinions on him seem to vary pretty wildly, with some thinking he's the bees-knees and others (even Knightmare, who follows Collingwood) saying he's done nothing for a couple of years (albeit largely due to injury) and is not worth anything like a top 5 pick at this stage.

Looking forward to us hopefully having to make some father-son choices in a few years time!

I love how the key question for the Herald-Sun is, "Now, how can Collingwood get him?"

... because that's all that matters...

Bailey Rice is available this year or next i think? no really sure if he is any good or not. But has the option of St Kilda or Carlton if either teams want him

We should go for David he would be great. would we give our first rounder for him? or a player like gilbo or armo and our second rounder?

Haven't heard anything about him, but I'm hearing some very, very promising things about 2 or three others who are coming up to draft age in the next 4-5 years, especially Jackson Voss and Levi Peckett.

Between Ch 7 & the daily filth, can somebody let them know there are 17 other clubs in the competition..

And while Collingwood has a lot of supporters they have a huge huge number of "anti-fans" who hate their guts.

Do the maths idiot daily filth, you are alienating more people than you are attracting.

thats why i hope they fail. i want some of there cream not mediocre scraps.

If they fail, we'll be getting the scraps from a roster that isn't top-8. I'd rather get the scraps off a GF team, as logic suggests they'd be struggling to get into a high-quality team. If someone is struggling to get into a rubbish team, I'd question whether we would really want them once we're through the next ~20 months of rebuild.

Just watching Koby Stevens it reminded me

Over the last two off seasons we were linked with Josh Caddy, Koby Stevens and David Myers all midfielders, can only assume we will definitely be after a mid or two come this years off season. I wonder who?

My two that i know are out of contract are Swallow and O'Rourke, not sure how good the chances are of getting either.
