Boyd is an eggs in the one basket type of move. You'd likely use pick 1, and nothing else. His value hasn't increased since being picked there last year. If anything, his desire to leave lowers it.

I'd still rather turn 1 into a few picks inside the 20. The most likely scenario being 1 and 22 for 4 and 7. Sure, it doesn't sound as nice as 1 for 4-5-6-7-8-9, but reality is a prick like that.

Of course i can given that everyone expects him to be a superstar and would then be then guaranteed a wage of such amount I think he should at least be prepared to play his contract out given the Giants had the faith to draft him whatever pick he was taken. One year of loyalty isnt going to make him poor just less respected.
Respected for what, being loyal to the club who are trying to prise away another club's captain while he's still contracted? How many at 19yo would choose that over possibly a $5 mil or $6 mil contract, when for all they know they could break a leg next week and never be the same again?

Robbo on SEN saying he spoke to GWS himself about Boyd earlier. He said it couldnt be more BLACK AND WHITE that they will NOT trade Boyd.

BLACK AND WHITE..............Hmmm

well there we have it, the other piece to the puzzle. he's not a small bird either

The best we can hope for is if gws trade whiley to carl for pick 7 and we get 4 + 7 for pick one.
gws would get petrecca
melb - wright + brayshaw
we,d end up with mc cartin + pick 7.
simple.
If dogs had 4 + 6 they would just keep it and pick up Wright/ Mc Cartin and pick 6.

And exactly the type of risk the club has to take.

You can learn from Nick Riewoldt at the saints Thomas.

While at the dogs you learn from........ well.................. Jack Redpath
Hey be nice.
Im sure the young dogs learnt plenty from
Minten-Connell
Alen Jakovich
James Cook
and Kingsly Hunter.

Exactly... if he goes to the Dogs, we'll just have Rhys Stanley tackle him in the goalsquare - he can ask Jon Patton how that went for him ;)

It just sounds stupid. The same crap over and over. Won't happen.
Granted 4,6,7 won't happen. However, I don't think asking 4 & 7 is unreasonable. We have stated on multiple occasions it is going to take a trade in our favour for us to give up 1. If nobody wants to offer that kind of value, we just take Petracca. Still a win.

Robbo now saying that the Beams deal looks like it might happen today. Darcy Gardiner the player to be included in deal

That is absolutely ridiculous by Robbo IMO. One the reasons why the Lions were willing to let Patfull walk, is that they have Darcy Gardiner to play CHB. If he goes, who do they have left? Merrett on last legs, McStay showed plenty up forward so will probably stay there, and Justin Clarke. That's pretty much it.

Good get for the Filth that... Gardiner will be a very good player.

Rhys might not even have to bother. If history is repeating itself Boyd will do his ACL this week just like Patton did after the reports of the Dogs offering him huge money came out.

1 and 22 for 4 and 7?

I have a really bad toothache. :( I'm waiting until my dental appointment. Believe me, if I had the choice between work and the dentist, work wins every time. I hate going to the dentists more than I hate Essendon... and you guys know how much that is!
