They obviously help but an elite midfield is far more important. Nathan Ablett and Quinten Lynch being premiership players proves that more than anything.Are key forwards what they used to be in the modern congested game?
Would you rather Ablett or Hawkins?
Fyfe or Tippett?
Dangerfield or Roughhead?
You can win flags without monster forwards dominating, but you can't without an epic deep midfield.
I could be way off but I can't see Boyd & Patton dominating like Dunstall & Plugger did. Gun key forwards are obviously still going to help win games, but I just wonder whether I'd rather spend the big picks on gun mids. I'd rather 10 dangerous avenues to goals like port than a champion forward that gets swamped on every entry.






and declare that Petracca will be a better player then Boyd once all is said and done.
